Then go back and wash and highlight them once you have more time on your hands and are fielding a large amount of models. They will look decent from an arms length, and you'll be able to play with a fully painted army much sooner.

mmm, no i hate doing this. Models fall through the cracks this way, and, simply, just dont end up getting finished. I'ts okay to do this with 20, or 30 models, but more.... and they start falling through because you miss one or another detail, and then either lose track of the offending model, or can't be bothered to finish just the one.

They get finished when I do it...I do a lot of going back and touching up detail, setting models aside if I notice something unpainted, etc. And when you're painting a horde army imo if you miss one tiny area that you can only see from a certain angle anyways I don't really mind if I miss it. Works for me

Kudos to you for remembering to actually finish stuff I just know that I wouldn't ever go back to finish them because I never go back to finish anything. I mean, my car has been in pieces in my garage for upwards of 3 weeks now, and even though I could put it back together and drive it, I always find something more pressing to do. Oh well, looks like transit for me

Just my 2 cents

Find a buddy. Even though I enjoy the patience of painting, I find it laborious too. But when my brother is across the table from me working on his minis, it's a nice stimulant to look over and see what he's done or working on. And when I'm done or particularly pleased with a piece, it's rewarding to get instant feedback. Movies and music work great too; remember it's got to be good background noise, something you don't want to actually watch.

Do or do not, there is no try.
