You don't... well, no, you do. As soon as you picked it up, however, you have engaged in Consort with the Daemon, and your soul is lost. You are now Tainted by the Warp, and are now of the Lost and the Damned.

Chaos is sneaky like that. They say that it takes an act of conscious will to fall to Chaos... and that holds true in this case. You willingly chose to pick this thing up... as the Daemon itself told you, that was your first mistake, and it is that sin that casts your soul away from the Light of the Emperor, and damns you to service to the Ruinous Powers.

The quote, incidentally, first appeared in the old Chaos hardback "Slaves to Darkness". If it had an appearance before then, I haven't seen it.

Simple, equip wraithguard before picking.... Oh wait, wrong game....
