I don't think it's possible to write a non-comedic story from an Ork's perspective. Orks are VERY serious when viewed by non-Orks, but if you're writing the perspective from an Ork and there isn't something funny there, you're doing something wrong. Orks, from their own perspective, simply don't even comprehend nor will they ever comprehend serious topics such as morality, romance, empathy, mourning, parenthood, etc. The closest emotion/concept an Ork knows that could be serious is despair, and even that emotion is VERY rare on orks.

If you include non-orks or a non-ork perspective in it, you can make it serious, but all that seriousness will have to come from that character's point of view.

Just read the Engine of Mork short story.

Great story from an Ork perspective

Orks can work in a novel setting.

Is it funny? Well, the teaser preview to it was pretty funny.

As an aside, I suggest everyone interested in an official Ork comic read Deff Skwadron. It's absolutely hilarious. But unfortunately a bit short. Does GW make comic series like these anymore?

Temple Prime

Not as often as you'd like, Boom! Comics when made most of GW's comics, had a serious downturn after it's former main client, Disney bought Marvel and no longer required it's sources.

I do have my own Ork novel series planned though.

Funny and well written especially from an ork perspective.

The characters are interesting enough that you would like to see them in a novel.
