If you want a positive outcome to this experience then I would start doing a mini tour for any codex that has only been out for a year or two. There are a lot of new rules that some players may not be familiar with and this will change the game and gamers attitudes hugely. The land raider crusader w/ BoD and PFG is a good synergistic unit that can rolf stomp the unprepared. If you know anything about it it is just another good interesting unit.

It does not sound like you did anything particularly wrong but for all we know the IRS was foreclosing on this guy. The best response to this sort of thing is to clearly state you believe you are correct and if the situation cannot be easily corrected you would always be willing to replay the opponent some time. Then you can roll off if a happy if/or solution can be reached. If not say thanks for the part of the game you enjoyed and either get a new game or pack up.

I know how you feel I have tabled the last 3 players w/ my GK army. All 3 people have said no offense but I am not playing that army again it is no fun there is nothing you can do vs it.

They don't realize the only way to beat it is close fast and don't let me stay long range and shoot you. I guess a standard GK list you usually don't want to get close up.

Well, I did try to stay smiling and happy, but at the end it was just too much.

besides, you know that combination of Banner of devastation annd bikes? yea, bolters don't do jack and gak against 2+ save wraith guard I found out. Actually, most of my shooting was ineffective at the end because I finished off any squishy stuff I saw.

I think from now on I'll tell people what goes with what and stuff. although I did do something like that at the beginning before I shot.

Also, since people asked, the things he made the most stink about was that most of my bikers didn't take dangerous terrain tests. (careful positioning and Skilled riders) and that everyone had a jink save.

413th Lucius Exterminaton Legion- 4,000pts

Kaptin KlawJaw's FreeBootahz!-1,500pts

The Royal Court of BlüdGrave- 2,000pts || Atalurnos Fleetbreaker's Akhelian Corps- 2500pts

Seriously? That is actually pretty funny. Not the 4++ LR but the jink save? Well that answers that laugh and find someone you have fun playing. Hopefully it was a bad day for that guy and he won't give you attitude. If he does just brush him off because it is a game and only worth the money if you have fun.

I had to stop reading a bit. Extent of rules error? It's one sided and we don't know the other side? WTF guys? Like come on, if anything the OP said he was SORRY for the mistake. The other person, right then and there, should have accepted his apology.

People make mistakes, it doesn't make or give the other person the right to be a jerk about it. If the OP didn't even make a mistake and no "rules error" were done, his opponent would still TFG and a jerk. In my eyes the OP did no wrong to warrant the reaction of the other person.

So some people on this thread say it's ok to be a jerk if your opponent made a mistake? It's ok to be a deuce because you are not winning or things are going your way?

To the OP, I said this before, and will say it again and again. Just look at your opponent, and his reaction. Look at what game you are playing. Now see how your opponent reacted to a PLASTIC TOY SOLDIER GAME. Yeah this really speaks VOLUMES of this persons character.

Yeah you made a mistake. I made mistakes in games. You apologized for it. It wasn't accepted. I apologized for them and they were accepted and we continued to keep playing and having fun.

In the end, this is a plastic toy soldier game. You seen how this person reacted to it. Is he really worth spending anymore energy to play this person again? Hopefully he will turn around and see "error" in LIFE, and will become a better person. If not don't bother with him ever again.

The guy is a spanker. Sorry you had to play such a poor game. Your army looks fine to me as well.

My advice would be more confident and self-assured. Confront stupid comments and call people like this out on poor behaviour early or immediately. If you let it slide, of course it will snowball.

Example. He says "that's stupid" when you opt to take Landraider Invulnerable or shoot some salvo bolters or hit and run or whatnot.

"Do you want to see the codex entry?"
"No it's fine, just broken blah blah mumble mumble"
*This is a pretty standard Dark Angels army. Are you new to playing Dark Angels?*
and/or
*Balanced many tabletop rulesets have you?*
and/or
*You can ask me what special rules my units have at any point. I presumed by your strong tailored list that you're a veteran player and familiar with the rulesets, I can't pre-empt what you do and don't know about the game"
and/or
*if you're not having fun because you feel you're in a bad position on the board, I'm happy to end our game here. You're openly sulking, I can't see why myself but I really don't like throwing dice down with sore losers, it's no fun for me and I'd rather not waste any more time. with this.*

In my experience people like your opponent really don't like it up them, and I'd rather paint or do anything else than play a game with a bad apple.

Very well said.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?
