Just out of curiosity, as clearly I am a noob at spotting the simplist of things
lol, are there anywhere else where these mold lines occur?
As for the drilling the gun bit, I will certainly try and find a decent pack of drills with bits in, and practise on a few boltguns that aren't on my models first haha.
That bolt pistol stands out. One things that helps with mold lines is to see where they go, and just follow them. They are seams, and go all the way around the mini in a continuos line. Pick a start point, and just rotate and scrape/file.
As someone who just finished cleaning a squad of assault marines, here is what stood out to me when I was working:
Heads. Right in the middle, front/back, across the ears.
Legs. Up the sides, both inside and out.
Torso. Nothing of note
Shoulder pads. Also pretty clean
Bolt pistols. Big line, right down the middle. Nothing shows the lines like drybrushing, which is how I do my bolters.
Chainswords. Not as bad as the pistols, but still needed some work.
Jump packs. These were just ugly. I cleaned them up before glueing together, and then filed them a little bit more after, to try to hide the seams.
