Orks live because of psychic energy, this does NOT mean they use psychic powers or are Psykers, only weirdboys do this, if they don't blow their head off in the process.

If you are going with the 2 heart anatomy of orks you have to then subscribe to the original Ork Physiology - where they are NOT a Hybrid Animal/Plant instead they enjoy a symbiotic relationship with algae in their skin instead of their blood. Their blood on the other hand is extremely thick and toxic and aids in the digestion process.

Now on to the Myth, we believe and it works. this is not true. Orks build things and even if a non Ork were to fire the weapon it would work. It still might explode in their face.
