I confess I kind of mocked it for years as nothing but a tourist attraction, but I finally visited the Cloud Gate, aka "the Bean" here in Chicago.
I was knocked out. There's so many different ways to look at it. From the way it sucks the whole skyline onto one metal canvas, to the way my kid can walk up to it and touch hands with an image of himself upsideown, to the way when you're inside, you can look at what appears to be yourself in a hole far away and that just scratches the surface.
It's just a magnificent example of public art. Not only visible spectacle, but also just the durability and interactivity of the exhibit.
