I don't think slaanesh is gone, I think they are just changing the symbol so they can copy right it I meant they are pretty much doing it to everything new in the IP. NOW, I personally believe a certain dark elf lady is taking slaanesh's throne and becoming the new one.

I mean the symbol looks somewhat like her crown, I think GW is very aware that people are freaking out over this I mean they would not put that line in the white dwarf for no reason if they are axing slaanesh and that new symbol looks NOTHING like the horned rat or anything to do with it. The symbol looks too "elegant". In my opinion.

he is gone, replaced by the horned rat, its been confirmed ... now SLAANESH is not DEAD or fully gone, just no longer active, his followers are all looking for him (a missing god, moving forward).

Nowhere has it been said that Slaanesh was replaced by the horned rat.

Slaanesh is not gone, but looks like it is being slowly phased out as a Warhammer fantasy army, its as dead as say Nippon or Araby was in the old universe, part of the background but not supplied with models.

As for the icon.

The new fourth image is a new icon for the Horned Rat, though I dont see why they cant use the old one. Yes it does look like Malekiths crown it is also a copy of the horns of some of the current Verminlord models.

I am currently reading through the Thanquol end times novel, and the new icon is used in the artwork for that and was recognisable as the fourth power on the wheel.

Frankly I think this is all a mistake, like a lot of AoS really, but within the Warhammer Fantasy milieu the Horned Rat does deserve significance as a chaos deity. He would in my opinion count as just a local deity though, not a cosmic one.

Yeah, my conclusion is that until stated otherwise Slaanesh is still a chaos god, especially considering that the new White Dwarf dedicates a page to each of the FIVE Chaos Gods

If the Horned Rat is replacing anyone, it is Malal/Malice.

I was not actually expecting this rumor to be confirmed.

My guess is if Slannesh doesn't return in full, it may be reincarnated with Morathi somehow.

I think there is possibly hope for slaanesh. Found this on the eternal crusade forum when people were talking about the whole slaanesh fiasco.

Yeah I think they are using this chance to redefine slaanesh and I am still calling it now Morathi is going to be the new slaanesh. Still I think its going to be interesting if they are making this a pretty big story line if this happens slaanesh might finally you be getting the love and attention that she/he really needed.
