Does anyone know where I could get some of these helmets? (without buying more destroyers)



Also Im working on my Seekers, just waiting for their FW helmets (Achean Pattern ones) and ill finish them. So far Ive tested making sniper rifles for them (counts-as boaters with special ammo, but they look like sniper rifles)

I managed to get this done this morning.




I extended the barrel about half a centimetre, added a support for it and built a scope out of spare plaisticard. Not sure on the scope, but I am flat out of the ones that come in the SM tactical squad and cant find my scout sprues. So that's all Ive got.

This guy is defiantly Terran, from before the legion was re-united with magnus, and still hasn't fully embraced the legions new mentality. His custom bolter was most likely built by him, and has been slowly modified over time. He is defiantly going to stand out, the other seekers will have FW helmets and rubric marine bolters. My plan is to have his shoulder pads lack the legion symbol, and only have the XV legion numeral. He will also be covered with kill marks, as will the rest of the squad, but he will defiantly have more.

Now back to KSons. I wont be able to paint next weekend (I'm in france) but the weekend after that will hopefully see me finish the ZM board and Support Squad.

I thought I share my overall progress here:



Geigor, the most recent Marine I've painted, is on the left. On the right is the first marine I built and painted. That was roughly 3 years ago, so Ive made some progress at least


I also change my KSons painting method slightly, I now undercoat with Mephiston Red Spray, THEN glaze with watered-down Mephiston Red, THEN do an all-over Agrax Earthshade wash. After that Evil Sunz Scarlet and Fire Dragon Bright.

My FW stuff finally arrived! (Sons torsos/MK IV heads)

So I decided to build Tolbek!







His right arm, legs and backpack are from BaC, his head is a MK IV KSons one, as is the torso. His left arm and shoulder pads are Rubric Marine ones, and the eye on his backpack is from the Rubric Marine sorcerer staff. I also gave him a book from a GK banner and a knife from the WE glade guard box. Oh, and a Vanguard Vet chainsword.


Next up are the rest of the seekers!

I started painting my support squad:

A question for you guys: I kinda want to do another character conversion for my army. Id like to do one of these. Which one of these should I do?

Chaplain: I guess? Doesn't seem too KSons-y to me...
Master of Signals: Good in-game, and Id Kina like to see a psychic MoS
Legion Champion: THIS could be awesome (read: Biomancy!!). Aaaand fluffy.
Viligator: Also kinda fluffy, especially with Amon and the KSons scout-things
Another Librarian: Why not?
Forge Lord: Not TOO fluffy, but ok. Also a potential cheese king (I wrote something about him on the KSons tactics thread)
Siege Breaker: Again, not fluffy.
Primus Medica: Fluffy-ish, plus useful on the battlefield
Moritat: Nerfed to death, but I like them. Also fluffy.
Delegatus: serves no real purpose. No idea why id do him...
Legion Praevian: I don't have any robots (YET!!!! -Ember'sInnerForgeworldLover) so doesn't have any purpose.

I stuck bits of sprue down and then covered the whole thing with PVA. I then dumped it in my Base Box (Mostly sand, plaster chips, small rocks, gravel, dried PVA, sprue clippings, grass tuffs, clump foliage, even a few melts guns and CSM bolters). I then spray painted it Chaos Black and dry brushed over it, followed by Agrelllan Earth in patches and BFTBG/ Nurgles Rot.

Now, I am also posting this to ask you guys something. What should I do for the next Unofficial Painting Comp? The theme is "Primal", so no KSons, but I have a few other ideas:

More progress has been made.

I decided to use some of y unpainted BaC minis for the tactical squads, so I was left with a few extra MK IIIs. Heres what I did with one:







Easy conversion, his bolt pistol was given an Ork bayonet and I used a bolter magazine to make it look special (Its an Archaeotech pistol, after all). His banner is half a Plague Monk stave with scrolls from the same box, as is the censer (cut off from a plague monk flail).


I also decided to use Ahriman's bas for Tolbek, and build a new one for Ahriman.



More work will be done today, and I'll hopefully purchase my Cairn Wraith (for the Tech Priest) later today or tomorrow.

Ohhhhkay. I went and purchased my cairn wraith and have spent the last few hours getting this together:



I swear GW actually has evil spirits haunting these things. I does NOT want to stay on ANY base, and nothing seems to stick to it. Sigh...

I finished the building phase! Here he is!

His staff is from the Skaven Plague Monks box, it gives him a more archaic look than a electronic one. The weird GS blob will become some kind of fleshy device, Maybe tenticles?


The "body" is a GK Psicannon jammed up his robe and the flamethrower is Sisters of Silence. Oh, and the chain blade is a chain fist attachment from BoP.


The holes in his robe are great for cables.

And an update on Ahriman!

I decided to paint the Tech Priest pink instead of red, to show he's sort of renegade. I'll be gone for the week, so no more painting until next Thursday. Sorry.

[YEAR: 0005 M.41_ ]

The procession of crimson clad warriors, perhaps 40 in total, reached to top of the cliff. At it head, his helmet mag-locked to his, stood a legionaire with long black hair. Ahriman stepped forward, his veterans and Amon behind him. The bare headed warrior knelt. "Thank the Emperor!" he cried "we are not alone!"
Amon shifted nervously beside Ahriman. He cast a glance at Tolbek, who shook his head slowly.
"Tell me, lord Ahriman" said the kneeling astartes "has prospero been saved?"
Ahriman waited before speaking
"No."
The silence rang out. None of the surrounding Marines dared speak.
Ahriman knelt down and placed a hand on the kneeling Space Marines head.
"Tell me, brother, how did you manage to escape the wolves."
The kneeling space marine stood, followed by Ahriman. He turned to his assembled warriors before speaking.
"I am sergeant Bathos of the XVth legion. I am a son of Magnus the Red and a loyal servant of the Emperor of Mankind."
Tolbek moved beside Ahriman.
"Perhaps his sanity has been somewhat changed" said Tolbek.
"Quiet" replied Ahriman.
Bathos, ignorant to Tolbeks remark, continued:
"I was sent by our Primarch to accompany the Tech-Priests of Zhao-Arkad on their expedition to the Halo stars, to search for Archaotech. I was sent under Magos Explorator Anhortari, captain of the Eye of the Omnissiah. Upon leaving the Prospero system, we were attacked by the VIth legions vanguard. Boarded by the Wolves, we were forced to barricade them in the lower decks and activate our warp drive far from Prospero's Mandeville Point."
He paused for a minute before continuing, his voice barely a whisper.
"We could not close the warp shutters. There are... things there. Unholy things. They spoke to us, and more than one of us spoke to them." He shuddered "And then the Wolves arrived. They had freed thenselves from the hold, and they rushed the bridge while we were still trying to set out destination."
He lifted a hammer from a strap on his back.
"I took this from the dead form of the Wolves leader. But not before they slaughtered half of us. We were forced to exit the Immeterium and land here. Where you found us."
He turned to Ahriman.
"And why are you here?"
Ahriman removed his helmet. He smiled.
"I wish to return our legion to its rightful place beside the Emperor.
We are going to find the Warmaster."

Ahriman followed Bathos down the narrow corridors of the Eye of the Omnissiah. Three of Ahriman's veterans followed, their footfalls echoing off the walls. They paused before a large blast door and waited, while Bathos punched in a code.
Ahriman glanced at the walls.
"What is that symbol?" He asked.
Bathos turned as the door opened. He gestured towards the blood colored sogil on the walls.
"Whenever the Wolves drew the blood of one of us, it pooled into that shape. No doubt something to do with the warp currents. It doesn't come off."
Ahriman remained silent as they entered the bridge. The few remaining servitors clattered away in their cubicles, each lit by a a single red light. The only other light came from the systems star, just visible in the far distance.
Bathos and Ahriman climbed the steps to the observation deck, where Amon and Tolbek stood. Behind them floated Tech Priest Khardon, the de-facto captain of the Eye of the Omnissiah. Ahriman felt uneasy at the sight of the Magos, the weeks since their arrival having done nothing to quench his feelings.
Amon turned towards theme
"First Captain"
Ahriman nodded in recognition.
"I have received news from our brothers on Soritarius. They wish for us to return."
Ahriman smiled, his bare head inclining slightly.
"No." He replied.
"I will not return. Take your troops, if you wish, and leave. But I shall stay."
Amon stepped forward.
"You have been acting off since Magnus fell, Ahriman. We all feel it, but will you turn your backs on your brothers because of it? Will you go so far?"
Ahriman turned his back to Amon. He sighed.
"Before we left, I created a psychic memory of myself on Soritarius. Return if you wish."
Ahriman continued.
"If you do return, talk to the others about our plan. My reflection will assist you, just as well as the flesh and blood me. Tell them of our cause. And make it happen. Save the legion."
Amon stepped back. He smiled.
"You have not change. I am glad to see that."
He turned as well, and gestured to his veterans.
"Gather in the lower decks, and prepare for our departure."
He turned once more and smiled at Ahriman.
"Good hunting."
"To you as well, Amon." Replied Ahriman. "To you as well."
