So, for you people doing the math. I have 50 eldar ranges in my eldar collection. How many rangers will I need to kill a landraider?

We don't have the LR's stats yet, it is all speculation.

100% true as far as i can tell. If a Land Raider is T 8, and the to-wound chart doesn't change, then a Land Raider will still be immune to Bolters.

Be chill.

You may laugh, but consider this: in the current rules terrain pieces can't be gotten rid of, and that's unlikely to change. So while bolters or even lasguns could eventually kill a land raider in 8th, no amount of fire from any gun can destroy a bush. In a 1v1 vs a particularly thorny bush that counts as dangerous terrain and a vehicle in 7e, the bush will never lose. It may not destroy the vehicle unless the pilot tried to repeatedly ram the bush, but the vehicle will never defeat the bush.

Next edition we have 5 army books. I'm calling book one Imperium, book two Chaos, book three aeldari, book four xenos. Book 5? Shrubbery .

Nailed it.

based on what they showed for the dreadnought, vehicles will also get armor saves. So that land raider will enjoy a 2+ save. I would love it if my opponent would have all of his infantry fire at my land raider. yeah he might strip a wound or two. But I don't care, that's a net win for me.

I'm not 'Concerned that it will make vehicles less powerful', I think it's just really fething stupid. I should not be able to so much as scratch the paint on a Land Raider by throwing sticks and rocks at it, no matter how many I throw. The same goes for firing Lasguns - They SHOULD NOT be able to hurt Land Raiders. I should not be able to punch a Warlord Titan to death, no matter how much time I have.

Once again friend, you can lose your landraider to a BUSH in the game TODAY.

But you see, it's a REALLY thorny bush! Rending, even!

Except they have already said everything can wound everything else. So, expect the chart to look like;

4+(Toughness - Strength) to wound: Minimum 2+ Maximum 6+.

So, Strength 4 vs Toughness 14 = 6+ to wound

The question with those rangers is: Does sniper rifle still wound on a 2+.

For low Str weapons vs. high T it'll probably be like having a very high BS but reversed.

A lasgun firing at a land raider might need a 6+ followed by a 5+ in order to actually hurt it, for instance.

People keep trying to find stupid ways to make landraiders tougher which is super weird because a riptide now has lower overall stats than the new land raider is likely to(extrapolating from the dreadnought statline) and yet no one complains right now that riptides are just super useless because of all the scary guard platoon squads that hunt them with their big scary lasguns.

TL;DR knock it off, lasguns can kill stuff NOW that they never actually manage to. The land raider will 99% be fine and even if it isn't Land Raiders are complete dogsh*t at the moment so worst case is status quo.

I'm not hating, I'm quite excited about the new system. Just trying to calm down people who are freaking out.

Fair enough, I just get super annoyed at just how many people jumped this particular band wagon and how far back the discussion got dragged because of it.

This made me shamelessly laugh.
