Twelve minutes door-to-door with no difference between coming and going. It's pretty nice considering I used to drive a lot further (hour and a half plus) depending on where I was working.

I live right near I-95 in southern Connecticut. Work is ten miles from my place, heading towards the NY border. Meaning anywhere between 20-40 minutes each way.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Typically it averages 15 minutes, accounting for light to medium traffic and at least a few lights stopping me. I've made it in 10, but also had it take 25.

This also excludes stopping on the way to look for Transformers.

I am a travel RN. Currently I drive 90(ish) miles to work.

I work 3 days in a row usually (12 hr days)

I snag an Air BnB the morning after my 1st night...crash for the day...go to work (its about a 15-20 min drive depending on traffic). Work...come back and crash foe the day...then check out, work, and drive home that morning.

There have been a couple weeks when I have foregone staying down there in order to drive the 90 min home. It really sucked amd wasnt worth losing the sleep (I tended to be more awake than tired after the drive).

I destroy my enemies when I make them my friends.

It's about 45-50 minutes door to door - bus, train, short walk.

My closest job was a 3 minute walk from home.
My furthest was a 30 minute trip to and up to a 70 or so minute return trip (alternating shifts, early one still gave me access to peak bus services home. Late one meant an hourly service to a train station where I'd have to change for a train ride from there).

Where I live now, PT is on the suckier end of sucktown. Everyone drives because of this - so I'm learning to drive. Even so, jobs are further apart, because regional location. So 70 minutes or so by PT becomes 70 minutes or so by car.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

Mine is between 30-45 minutes, depending on the traffic. I work 12 hour shifts though, so I only commute 3 days one week and 4 the next. I wouldn't want to do the same commute 5 days a week.

I'm moving this weekend. Moving to the fiance's house that's farther away from the day job. My commute is going to be 37 miles or around an hour according to Google maps. My current commute is 40-45, so not a huge difference but enough to be just a little suckier. The new place is about as far as I'd want to drive each day.

So how far do you drive to work? How far is the max you'd go for any job on a daily basis?

It takes 22 minutes from the time that I leave my garage to the time I reach the parking garage at work.

I live in AZ and take the 202 east the whole way, which usually isn't crowded.

20 minutes. I work 3 a week doing 12s right now, pick up a shift here and there to finish it out.

Going back to 8s next month due to low census, 5 a week. Kind of looking forward to it, sad I'm going to be driving more though.

Currently, its about 35-45 minutes depending on traffic. My new house that I'm hoping to get will be about an hour to an hour and a half drive each way. Like others here, I work 12s. Normally its 3 one week, 4 the next but we are so short staffed right now that we are on average working 5 days a week. The extra time and distance away with the new house will be worth it because Ill have a lot more freedom in the country than I do living in the city.

20 miles and about 20 minutes. 15 if there is zero traffic.

I grew up driving great distances all the time, so distance really isn't a factor to me. I've never had to commute in any real traffic though, and I know I don't like it. So traffic is really the big consideration for me. I'd rather commute for an hour in zero traffic than for 20 minutes in bumper to bumper.

10 to 15 min by car, which is pretty good. I know people who have an hour commute, by train.

A bit over 20 miles and about 25 minutes, depending on how much of a speeding ticket I want to risk. Driving in late for work just before 6am on an empty interstate at 100mph sure got me there on time, but it's not a very smart risk.

How far is the max you'd go for any job on a daily basis?

30 minutes is about the limit. Anything more and I'd be looking to move closer to work, and there would have to be a pretty compelling reason to waste that extra time and money commuting from a more distant location.

5 minute work to and from work for me. I cannot extoll the virtues of a short commute enough, it is fantastic being able to get home by 5 past 5 if I want to!

I wouldn't drive much more than half an hour but if I could commute by camel or jetski then I might consider a little longer :-P

A 7 minute walk to work for me; I think I would be exaggerating if I even called it a commute. Hell, I even go home for lunch...

My previous job was "be anywhere we need in the country - tomorrow" deal, so I could do a day's work then have a 3-4 hour journey to my next site.

Took a long hard look at my life last year, got a local job (and took a massive pay cut) and my commute is now 6 miles/15 minutes each way. I have the choice of splitting the driving with Mrs M, taking the bus or cycling.

Not for everyone, but it works for me.

Under "60" and "405" is like one of those mathematical impossibilities. Like trying to divide something by zero.

Myself it's about 60 minutes both ways on the 10 and the 110 straight through the heart of Downtown. Once the school year starts I drive through the residential areas of South Central in the morning rather than take the 10 for it's whole length.

Well I'm all moved in now. My 37 mile commute takes me 60 minutes. Only about 15 minutes more than before. Don't mind it now, but it might get old quick.

I gotta find me a web design job where I can work 100% from home, get good health benefits, and a real salary that I can live on and also support my addition to army men. Don't think such a thing exists :(
