The difference is not showing support during the campaign, not giving help in unlocking stretch goals and not showing interest in the project, and later in the pledge manager selecting from a more diminished selection of options.

Well CMON is a publicly traded company from Hong Kong, and their add ons are announced after a certain amount of pledges have been accumulated, not before, if that was not the case then they would simply announce all add ons from the start.

So the issue here is that CB is honest in saying, "well if we reach X amount of $ we can afford to invest the resources to offer an add" on instead of CMONs direction of just announcing the add ons when they hit the $ amount they wanted?

 smurfORnot wrote:

One would think that you can be interested in something without just shouting TAKE MY MONEY and throwing money at screen....seems you can't as you say...

Of course you can be interested in something even without pledging but, how much interest and more importantly commitment to that interest shows a 1$ pledge?

There has been no "squatted" sectorial, there have been sectorials put out of active rotation, they will come back to rotation at some point in the future and some other sectorial will come out of rotation.

I understand these reasons and I can see it on an individual/ per case basis, but I do not think the minimum pledge of 100EU (upgradable later on on the pledge manager) is that steep, on the other hand if one is not committed on a simple pledge how reassured one can be they will be committed later on?

I understand the tactic and I understand the ways CMON utilizes them during campaigns I just pointed out since CMON was mentioned that CMON and CB are not similar by a large degree.

Resin and plastic has officially been said for this terrain pack, if it gets cleared on what of the two stands I will provide further information on the terrain pack.

In general there was a dip at the start of the day from people that changed their pledges to 1$ (and then the same people complained why the campaign was not progressing) and then a push from backers to hit the 580k once the campaign hit 580k and the Platinum level was unlocked the campaign got a healthy boost and now is about to reach 660k and unlock yet another mission for the expansion.

In other news the last update is

Platinum Pledge open!!!

We’ve got a new pledge! We thank you all for unlocking this expansion: OUTCAST!

With the new expansion, a new pledge is now open: PLATINUM includes CORE + COLLECTOR’S + DELUXE + OUTCAST + 4 FREE MINIATURES (Shinobu Kitsune, Uxia McNeill, Fat Yuan Yuan y Lei Gong) for just 250€.

The expansion may also be acquired separately for 70€.

The expansion also includes something that many of you have been asking us for and, since at Corvus Belli we’re putting all our effort towards answering -and, of course, listening- your comments, we’re developing a scenery generator that will be included in this expansion.

This generator allows for game customization both with contents from Core and the expansion’s.

What else does Outcast bring to the table?

Here’s a video showing its full content:

These are the expansion’s contents:

The 4 extra miniatures included free in the pledge PLATINUM are included as tokens in the expansion.

Outcast continues with the narrative from Core, but it can be played independently, though we recommend you play it after Core, since some decisions you made earlier will influence the expansion.

With the expansion, two add-ons have also become unlocked: PanOceania and ALEPH Reinforcement Packs.

The Reinforcements Packs don’t include cards or tokens for playing these enemies in Infinity Defiance, given that they’re already included in the expansion. These packs are completely optional and are designed for players who don’t have these miniatures and want to obtain them for a good price. In no case are these necessary to complete the game, they’re additions.

Lastly, we would like to take the opportunity to tell you that the FAQ have been updated. You can consult them at the “Frequently Asked Questions” section.

See you on the next update!

1$ (well EU) pledges are possible and give access to the pledge manager, but to access the add ons on pledge manager you need to upgrade to at least a base level pledge.

Shipping has been split to either two waves wave 1 (July 2020) is core, collectors, deluxe scenery pack and card sleeves wave 2 (Fall 2020) is everything else, or one wave for those that want to reduce shipping costs at fall 2020.

replayability will be addressed in a scenario generator to be developed with the outcasts expansion.

New missions, profiles and fluff

Hello again backers!

In the last update we celebrated hitting the 580K€ mark and now we’ve hit the 680K€ mark! Awesome! Thank you so much for your support!

Let’s see what we’ve recently unlocked:

In this mission, you will face off against the infamous JSA character Shinobu Kitsune! This extra mission will come free with the Outcast expansion.

Four new Platinum pledge Characters have been unlocked; Shinobu Kitsune, Fat Yuan Yuan, Lei Gong, and Uxía McNeill. Play them as heroes or as enemies for even more replayability! The cards and tokens will be included in the Outcast expansion, but the miniatures are exclusive to the Platinum pledge.

Yu Jing Reinforcement Pack unlocked!

Like the PanOceania and ALEPH Reinforcement Packs, the Yu Jing Pack is designed for players who don’t have the miniatures and want to obtain them for a lower price. It is not necessary to complete the game and is entirely optional.

Remember that the Reinforcement Packs do not contain the enemy cards or tokens, because they are already included in the Outcast expansion.

  • 1x XI ZHUANG + 2x MadTraps

  • 3x KUANG SHI

  • 1x CELESTIAL GUARD

  • 1x ZHANYING

  • 2x SU JIANG

  • GUIˇ FĒNG XI ZHUANG

Most would consider Xi Zhuang a workaholic; he’ll claim to be ‘committed to his duty.’ It’s in his blood. His grandfather was a policeman for twenty years until he was gunned down during the Mùyú Wars between the Shentang Triads. After years of service in the Counterinsurgency Division of the Celestial Guard, he was approached by the Yǎnjīng intelligence service to join the Guǐ Fēng as a Special Forces operative. He became known for bringing the Imperial Service brand of implacability to the job, which only helped his reputation as a man not to be trifled with. As far as Xi Zhuang is concerned, his duty is to safeguard the safety and freedom of his compatriots, and the law is the only guarantee of freedom and safety there can be, even if it must be enforced from the shadows of a covert operation.

    CELESTIAL GUARDS

The Celestial Guard are the units which guard the celestial emperor’s capital.

Because of their military assignment, the Celestial Guard are intervention troops, specialists in urban fighting.

At the same time, the Celestial Guard is part of the Yu Jing Judicial Police Special Tactics Unit. In addition to their security function, they deal with police work in situation control operations such as surveillance, tracking and quick response. They have a reputation for their violent and expeditious methods and are feared all over the Imperial State for their quasi-unlimited authority to carry out arrests, their efficient net of informants and their cruel interrogations. They are notorious for erupting into the houses of suspects in the middle of the night and taking them to their headquarters dungeon, from where they never return, disappearing without leaving a trace in any files or registers. Considered to be dirty and treacherous troops, the Celestial Guards make a public display of pride in their bad reputation, believing it makes their job much easier.

    KUANG SHI

Kuang Shi was the name given to soulless zombies in Southern China. The current incarnation of the Kuang Shi are quite similar, political or reoffending prisoners who disappear from the jails of the Celestial Guard to endure a deep brainwashing process, being reduced to mere human shells repeating the Information Ministry’s propaganda. The judicial specialists turn them into resolute soldiers who are capable of sacrificing their lives for he who they once most despised, the Emperor.

After the process of “political teaching” and training, they are loaded with incendiary explosives, provided with a cheap Chain Rifle and assigned a target. Their explosives are equipped with a remote activation control. The Celestial Guard responsible for watching them carries a control device allowing him to detonate them whenever he wants. If a soldier falls, the explosives go off automatically. If the Kuang Shi go out of control or withdraw, the detonation device is also activated. As can be supposed, they don’t usually survive their missions.

    ZHANYING IMPERIAL AGENTS

Imperial Agents are direct representatives of the Emperor, an elite caste within the Imperial Service. In this caste, there are ranks, structured according to their proximity to the Dragon. Zhànyīng Agents, the fighting eagles, are one of the lowest rungs of that ladder.

These Imperial Agents are given wide leeway, and they use it all in the performance of their duties. Wherever they go, the law is obeyed. Despised by the liberal press for their violent, expeditious methods, and accused of being an instrument of repression, the Zhànyīng know better. In their job, they are surrounded by the scum of society; they know criminals have immense power over law-abiding citizens. If they do not protect the oppressed, who will?

    SÙ-JIÀN

A Remote Presence Heavy Infantry with variable morphology. The key to its success is the integration of Remote Presence technology, the supposedly PanOceanian great achievement, into Yu Jing’s military specialty: its famous Heavy Infantry armor. Usually, servo-powered armors are slow and heavy, while what was sought was the opposite, nimbleness and mobility. To that end, instead of creating and developing hardware improvements, it was decided to remove the human operator.

For this purpose, it was vital that the remote interface allowed a direct connection with its operator. New neural connections had to be created that would work within the reduced space of a human-sized exoskeleton.

Through the interface, a pilot feels the sensation of the exoskeleton getting ready for action. The energy concentrates in the limbs’ accumulators, while the entire system focuses on responding to new challenges, acquiring superhuman strength and agility. The interface also has an onboard tactical assistant, a computer built into the exoskeleton’s connection and control devices. This assistant remains constantly active, processing every situation and predicting future events; tracing trajectories, anticipating an enemy’s movements, guessing the pilot’s intentions and improving them.

Here is the conversion table with O-12, ALEPH, and PanOceania included. We’ll keep updating the table as new enemies are released.

We have also managed to unlock the cards of the Intruder and Kriza Borac (Nomads). Tomorrow we will talk more about them in the next update.

Celebrate the arrival of the Outcast expansión with this new Teseum Goal: Katherine Cho’s Infinity profile!

    ENSIGN KATHERINE CHO, PSI UNIT

When someone said that the Sphere could be made a better place thanks to the work of idealistic and committed people, they were certainly thinking of people like Katherine Cho. Daughter to a couple of Yu Jing professionals who moved to Concilium because they were compelled by the idea of being able to work at a global scale, the young Katherine was educated in the foundational principles of O-12, which her parents assumed as their own. Katherine's sharp intellect and firm beliefs did not go unnoticed by the scouts of the Psi Unit, the intelligence section of Bureau Aegis, which recruited her as an analyst as soon as she finished her studies at the University of Manaheim. Gifted with a brilliant mind and great analytical skills, Katherine was assigned to a crisis study and management team in the Paradiso Coordinated Command. In this critical position of responsibility, Ensign Cho has always performed at her best, and her determination has never wavered one iota no matter how strong the pressure she has been subjected to. Resolute and motivated, this young officer never loses focus of the case she has been assigned. Even though her job as an analyst makes her see the true, ugly face of the Sphere every day, Katherine never stops believing that she can make the difference and help turn it into the place her parents always dreamed of. She knows the fate of the Sphere is at stake and, even though she will always play by the book, she will never let politics, prejudice, or shortsightedness get in the way of her doing a good job. For Ensign Cho, that means always following and enforcing the law, because making compromises is the same as betraying it, and according to her, the only way to combat chaos is to enforce order. This determination has made her a very valuable officer and she is assigned some of the most complicated cases the Coordinated Command has to face. When other intelligence analysis teams are stuck and unable to provide a solution to a problem or crisis, Ensign Cho receives a call on her comlog. Unfortunately, this also means that sometimes she finds herself thrown to the dark and crooked sewers of fieldwork, where she has to wield a weapon in order to do her duty, and to avoid becoming another case for one of her fellow analysts to solve. In moments like this, Katherine fights her fear by taking a deep breath and repeating her favorite mantra: “Be the best you can be. Do not question your mission. The Sphere needs you.” Everything else is left to her training, her intellect, and to her bulletproof determination.

We know you’re curious, so here is another Micro Goal. Help us unlock Lei Gong’s profile by getting 100 Retweets on this tweet!

Fat Yuan Yuan is one of the new heroes unlocked with the Outcast expansion. Here’s his fluff, so you can get to know him better.

    FAT YUAN YUAN

Brutal and devastating: we could define the Yuan Yuan pirates and mercenaries in those terms, but there is no Yuan Yuan more devastating than the Fat Yuan Yuan.

His fists are like frozen hams, his combat jumps more plummets than controlled descents that make the earth tremble as much as his deep guttural belches. Everyone knows somebody who reminds them of the Fat Yuan Yuan, but I can assure you that no one measures up to him. The Fat Yuan Yuan remains undefeated in all the arm wrestling and drinking competitions he has ever been in. He is a living legend from the confines of Human Edge to the worst dives of Castropol. If you find him in a shady bar washing down beer and eating snacks by the handful, or putting a street vendor’s noodles to the test, maybe you can hire him… but you will regret it later.

Remember that Fat Yuan Yuan’s miniature is exclusive to the Platinum pledge, but his Character card and token come included in the Outcast expansion.

But let’s see... What’s that on the “unlock horizon”? Brace yourselves, the Nomads are coming!

    The Nomads are finally here!
    Hello again, backers!

    We’ve hit the 700K€ mark!

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you so much for your support! You’re amazing!

Let’s see what’s become unlocked in the past few hours:

The Nomads’ Reinforcement Pack has been unlocked!

Just like PanOceania, ALEPH, and Yu Jing, the Nomads’ Reinforcement Pack doesn’t include neither cards the tokens to play these enemies in Infinity Defiance, since they’re included in the Outcast expansion. These packs are completely optional and are designed for players who don’t have the miniatures and want to obtain them for a good price. In no case are these necessary to complete the game, they’re additions.

Also, the Zoe & Pi-Well and Morlock enemy cards are now unlocked! Remember that those enemy cards and their tokens will be included for free on the Outcast expansion.

    ZOE & PI-WELL

Zoe Nemova has worked her fingers to the bone to become one of the foremost members of the Clockmakers Team. The daughter of an influential executive of the Bank of Tunguska, she has been afflicted by an obscure degenerative disease, a mutation of an old American military virus, since she was eight. In order to pay for the costly biomedical therapy available only in Praxis, Lev Nemov, Zoe’s father, embarked in high-risk/high-yield financial instruments, siphoning funds from the Bank and selling financial information about the Khruleff family to benefit the Geigers. Zoe’s treatment succeeded in keeping her alive, but by the age of sixteen she had had sixty percent of her body replaced by wetware and biosynthetic organs.

Independent-minded and rebellious, Zoe is difficult, brilliant, fickle and, at times, unendurable. Rumor has it that the Team tolerates her for her talent only, and she certainly exhibits the bluntness and blindness to social cues stereotypical of engineers.

From her stint as a runaway, and perhaps her natural disposition, she tends to keep to herself. She speaks sparsely, walks softly and, although she rarely raises her voice, she has never lost an argument. Zoe’s physical features are in constant flux as she experiments with modular implants and augmentations to stave off the disease eating away at her body.

П-Well is Zoe’s faithful companion, a remote built from scrap and black-market stock parts. Its micromind contains an AI that would be blatantly illegal out of the Nomad jurisdiction. П-Well is the perfect associate for Zoe: more dependable and uncomplicated than any human. It stores all tools Zoe might need on the field and has her back while she toils away. It has become indispensable to Zoe, to the point that the psych profiles of both show growing irritability spikes whenever they spend some time separated…

    MORLOCKS

Morlock Groups scrape the bottom of the barrel that is the manifold society of Bakunin. Individuals who are deemed unfit for cohabitation in Bakunin’s public areas or private habitats, particularly those who are known to have violent or antisocial backgrounds, are assigned a Morlock Group. The reasoning is that even the worst psychopaths can contribute something positive to the ship. Morlocks consume MetaChemistry compounds that suppress their violent impulses until they can be realized productively, namely in battle. Then, the MetaChemistry that governs their behavioral releases and augments their aggressive instincts. No two Morlocks are alike, but they all have fierceness in their faces, a deranged look in their eyes and danger coursing through their clenched muscles. Any interaction with the Morlocks is tantamount to playing with matches near a powder keg; they are, in a very real sense, programmed to stir up trouble. The name of their units should tell you everything you need to know about them: the major groups are the Morlock Aufstand (Rebellion) Gruppe, the Morlock Chaos Gruppe, and the Morlock Schaden (Damage) Gruppe. Their combat methods are the logical outcome of their MetaChemical treatment: straightforward ultraviolence, running up to the closest enemy and hitting him until he stops twitching.

    INTRUDERS

Intruders are always ready for offensive assignments to further the agenda of the Nomad Nation, including small, medium or large-scale conflicts far beyond the scope of any other Corregidorian unit. They are famously feared as assault troops, and accept only the best soldiers from other Corregidorian regiments. They act as an expeditionary corps, scouting new environments, making first contact and gathering information. Intruders can do anything from military intel, to covert ops, to urban combat, to tunnel guerrilla tactics, to sabotage. They also frequently act as military advisers and field instructors when the situation calls for an accelerated boot-camp to turn blue-collar workers into a reasonably capable combat force. However, the real reason why they are feared as the elite of spec-ops teams is their prowess as hunters and assassins. The Corregidor Assault Commando is the one true ace up the Nomad sleeve, because all it takes to control a whole battlefield is one single Intruder.

    KRIZA BORACs

The Specijalne Krize Jedinice, or Special Crisis Units in Serbian, emerged as an initiative of one of the officers of the incipient Tunguska Jurisdictional Command, Jarek Darékovic, in the turbulent days after the ship’s foundation. Darékovic was aware that Tunguska would find it very difficult to resist a direct attack by the heavy assault infantry units of either of its greatest enemies, whether that was PanOceania or Yu Jing. Certain of this, he hastened to create an elite unit that could not only face them, but also repel them.

Nowadays, the Special Crisis Units are divided into two operating groups that can act jointly or separately. The Guja Grupa, or Serpent Group in Serbian, is the group that composes the attack force, while the Sokolska Grupa, or Falcon Group, constitutes the support force, and is made up of heavy and support weapon specialists. Still, regardless of its tactical role, the main mission of the Kriza Boracs is always the same: to live up to their name (Crisis Soldiers) and intervene when a crisis breaks out. Tunguska command is clear: this is the unit that must be deployed when the situation reaches the critical point and it’s necessary to unleash hell on enemy's heads, when you have to enter with everything you’ve got, guns blazing.

    UPDATED!

Yesterday we showed you the enemy conversion table, with the addition of O-12, ALEPH, and PanOceania. As some of you pointed out, there were certain equivalences that didn’t seem to work out, like the Tikbalang’s, since there was no substitute TAG. Here, we present the updated table, with the proper equivalences for Yu Jing and Nomads. Keep in mind that this table, like most elements we’re showing, are a WIP, so they’re subject to change.

We did it! Thank you for helping us out with those Retweets Here it is, the Infinity profile for Lei Gong, Invincibles Lord of Thunder:

LÉI GŌNG, INVINCIBLES LORD OF THUNDER

Léi Gōng is The Lord of Thunder, in Chinese mythology, in the HexaDome, and on the battlefield. Fast, elusive, and powerful, Léi Gōng is a veritable force of nature who changes the course of any confrontation. Symbol and icon of the StateEmpire’s Invincible Soldier military-technological program, this champion is the spearhead of the Yu Jing Ministry of Information’s advertising apparatus.

The Invincible Army represents the soldier-citizen, the common man or woman who take up arms to defend their country. Any StateEmpire citizen could be found under the helmet of an Invincible, since discipline and technology empowers all those committed to Yu Jing. This is the message transmitted by the Invincible Army with each intervention. But the Yu Jing Ministry of Information knew well that even a society focusing on the power of the collective needs a person to embody that message, a face to identify with. Thus, Project Invincible Thunder (无敌的雷,Wúdí De Léi) was initiated, with the aim of developing an armor for the HexaDome that would capture Yu Jing’s technological power and finding the hero who would wear it with pride and honor.

And if pride and ability were what they were looking for, the Ministry of Information could not have done a better job finding somebody embodying these qualities. Chen Zubai was a young officer with the Dāoyīng Operational Control Unit who had shown great tactical ability in Paradiso’s theater of operations and who seemed to have a bright future ahead of him, only hindered by his boldness and his appeal for danger that sometimes compelled him take his orders to the limit. The son of Party members with an impeccable record, handsome and brave, this officer was the perfect image for any recruitment poster, and even more so for the HexaDome arena. Consequently, Chen Zubai underwent a period of intensive training during which he developed a personal combat style that took advantage of the technological advances that Yu Jing’s military-industrial machinery had developed for Project Invincible Thunder. Taking “Léi Gōng” as his nom de guerre, he was presented in Aristeia! with one of the largest media displays ever seen in this sport. Regardless, he soon proved that the only advertising he needed was nothing more than being given more time in the arena. His exploits in the HexaDome and his plethora of victories quickly made him become a star in his own right and a source of pride for Yu Jing. With his overwhelming charisma and a bold, boastful attitude, Léi Gōng has earned himself fans and followers all over Maya; he knows he is one of the best and he likes to brag about it. His is a combination of skills, attitude, and success that is truly irresistible to the public.

Quite soon, the High Command realized that there is no better recruitment hook than Léi Gōng urging the youth of the StateEmpire to join the ranks of the Invincible Army. This champion’s holoimage welcomes the new recruits at the Invincible Army’s training centers scattered all over Yu Jing, and especially at the Yīngwō Military Academy of Polyvalent Command, alma mater of the Dāoyīng unit Léi Gōng was a member of. They all arrive eager to emulate the feats of their hero, be it at the arena of Aristeia!, hoping to be admitted into Project Invincible Thunder, or on the battlefield, for Léi Gōng has not given up active duty and he visits fronts where his brothers in arms are fighting to join forces with them and obtain victories. After the debacle of the Japanese Uprising, the StateEmpire needed new wins to restore national pride, and consequently to Léi Gōng’s joy, his presence on the battlefield was increased, particularly in Paradiso and any other operation of great media impact, for example the destruction of the Shasvastii cell infiltrating the city of Chunqiu in Svalarheima. Léi Gōng is a soldier who has been trained to be part of an elite and he knows that danger is a fundamental aspect of his job, so unlike other Aristeia! fighters, real action does not frighten him, but further motivates him. In fact, Léi Gōng has been criticized on numerous occasions for his sometimes-excessive courage and audacity, a fearlessness he boasts both in the arena and on the battlefield and which could lead to his end. But no matter how many times he is reminded of this, he will not change his attitude in the slightest. This reckless champion knows how fleeting the life of an elite combatant is, always on the brink of death, and that—no matter how carefully planned the strategy and tactics may have been—at critical moments everything depends on your own ability and luck, and he knows he has plenty of both. Léi Gōng feels attracted to the danger that keeps him firmly focused on the present, so he can enjoy it to the fullest. There is one indisputable fact in combat, either in the HexaDome or in the course of a dangerous operation, and that is that you can never predict anything beyond ten seconds ahead. This short lapse is the only guaranteed future, and it’s all Léi Gōng needs to unleash the fury of thunder on his adversaries to achieve victory.

And now, what unlockables are next? An additional foam tray for the Collector's, Deluxe, and Platinum pledges! With this extra tray, you’ll have ample room to store the contents of the Outcast expansion and some Reinforcement Packs, for example.

Operation Wildfire enemies unlocked! Also, Revenant expansion is coming!

Hello again, dear backers! We’re here with another Infinity Defiance super update, but this one is very, very special.

First things first: thank you for achieving the present unlock. We’re talking about the Enemy cards that complete the miniatures of Operation Wildfire.

They are the cards and tokens of the Mentor, Shrouded, Kappa, Delta, Epsilon, and Gangbuster.

For those who like fluff, here are some details about the troops appearing in Operation Wildfire, already available for Infinity Defiance thanks to this unlock:

    MENTOR SHASVASTII TACTICAL MONITORING COMPANY

Mentors are constantly monitoring the enemy activity as much as their own, looking for flaws and weaknesses in the first, and real and potential threats to the second. The objective of these tactical monitors is two-fold: fundamentally, to provoke the ruin and destruction of the adversary, causing as much fear and damage as possible, but also, faithful to the cautious and preventive mentality of the Shasvastii, preventing the collapse of their strategy and ensuring that it is executed as perfectly as possible. As tactical monitors they will do whatever it takes to maintain control of the battle. For this reason, Mentors are considered an objective of interest, both for military and intelligence purposes, because their level of danger to the adversary is such that it cannot be limited to a single parameter.

    THE SHROUDED, SHASVASTII PIONEER CORPS

Shasvastii Pioneers spearhead every invasion by the Continuum Expeditionary Forces. They reconnoiter the enemy, gather information, evaluate potential and actual threats and carry out pre-emptive attacks when appropriate. In times of peace, their job is to locate new sites for future colonies of the Shasvastii Continuum. In times of war, they become the stuff of nightmares for enemy intelligence services, devoting their hearts and souls to stirring up trouble and spreading misery. Their combat suits are formed of superimposed fabric layers made out of sensitive bioquantronic textiles covered in mimetic cells. When inactive, the loose-fitting combat suit somewhat resembles a burial shroud, hence the appellation given to them by human troops.

    KAPPA UNIT

The Human Sphere is vast and can be a very dangerous place. So, sometimes, upholding the law and protecting the citizens requires a better-prepared and better-equipped type of agent than the average patrolman. It’s on these occasions that the Kappas are deployed on the field. This unit is the core of Bureau Aegis’s paramilitary troops and belongs to O-12’s authorized police force. Kappa Units are this international body’s main peacekeeping troops, the thin blue line keeping us from chaos, which means they often find themselves forced to work in the worst places humanity has ever created.

    DELTA UNIT

Honoring the old tradition of the special operations units that have carried this name, the Deltas are O-12’s special commandos in charge of carrying out the most spectacular and risky missions imaginable. This unit is composed of elite assault troopers, specializing in lightning attacks, close quarters battle, counter-terrorism operations, and in extremis rescue missions. Their psychological profile reveals that they are all genuine thrill-seekers who wait for their next mission with such a craving for adrenaline that it makes their job look like it’s nothing more than an extreme sport—the most extreme of all.

    EPSILON UNIT

The Epsilons are among the top representatives of the Bureau Aegis, experts in Intelligence and Special Operations, as well as political-military analysts. They feel equally comfortable in the corridors of the Öberhaus in Concilium as they do in the middle of the political intrigue between the great powers. Notwithstanding, when they must carry out military and intervention missions, the Epsilons become commandos that are expert in Search and Destroy operations, asymmetric warfare, and combat control.

From a tactical point of view, the Epsilon troops are extremely effective, versatile, and lethal, and probably one of the most fearsome adversaries you can face on a battlefield as well as in the political arena, and we are not sure which of these two settings is more dangerous.

    GANGBUSTERS, SPECIAL CRIME SQUAD

The special agents with the Special Crime Squad (SCS) have been trained to operate from within the most dangerous criminal environments imaginable. They can infiltrate criminal organizations going undercover as intermediaries, hitmen, or any kind of mobster or thug necessary. But the truth is that Gangbusters have earned their nickname for being one of the best elite tactical units of Bureau Aegis. Despite their appearance and their unorthodox methods, these agents have outstanding tactical skills, although this is not surprising: their job requires it. Because, even if crime doesn’t pay, the Gangbusters provide payback, not with silver but with lead, and of a large caliber.

This unlock is available for the OUTCAST expansion and the PLATINUM Pledge.

    FAQs REINFORCEMENTS PACKS

We also want to share with you a little FAQ about Reinforcement Packs, we hope it may come handy:

Lately, we have been unlocking a series of Add-ons for Infinity Defiance that we’ve called Reinforcement Packs, and by reading some of your comments we’ve realized you have some questions about them.

This article will be a Reinforcement Pack mini guide.

What kind of content comes with them? Only the miniatures listed.

Do I need to purchase all of them to fully complete the Infinity Defiance game? Not at all. These Reinforcement Packs are add-ons that add some replayability to the game, but they aren’t necessary or indispensable to enjoy the full game experience.

Where can those profiles be found to play in Infinity Defiance? Depending on when they are unlocked, all the Reinforcement Packs’ profile cards may be in the Core (any pledge) box, or in the Outcast expansion box.

-Infinity: Defiance (CORE, COLLECTOR’S, DELUXE, and/or PLATINUM pledge) Onyx Reinforcement Pack and Morat Reinforcement Pack.

-Infinity: Defiance. Outcast (Expansion): PanOceania Reinforcement Pack, ALEPH Reinforcement Pack, Yu Jing Reinforcement Pack, and Nomads Reinforcement Pack.

Why are the profiles apart from the miniatures? The main reason is that we know that many long standing clients of our Infinity line may already have many of the miniatures offered through the Reinforcement Packs. If we had linked profiles and miniatures in the same box, we couldn’t reward our faithful and enthusiastic player base.

Will I be able to play my Infinity armies’ miniatures in Defiance? Some of them, yes - the ones that are part of Reinforcement Packs or have been unlocked during the campaign. Regardless, we’ll continue working towards including more content during the remaining days of the campaign.

How can I play these Reinforcement Packs? Through the campaign’s own updates we’ve been previewing a series of tables (work in process) that substitute the original enemies for those presented in the Reinforcement Packs. We will complete this effort for the definitive version. We’ve also published a video with clues illustrating how the system will work.

Are all Reinforcement Packs the same? Not at all. Just like every Infinity army has their own idiosyncrasies, we strive to have every Pack to have some of that “flavor”.

-Both Onyx and PanOceania have a T.A.G.

-The Morat have a different way to use packs of The Hungries and their ability to explode.

-ALEPH uses the Targeted State and guided ammunition to harass characters.

-Yu Jing focuses in defense and CC combat.

-For Nomads, hacking will play a pivotal role.

Will there be more Reinforcement Packs? Of course, we have many more surprises in store for the campaign.

    FINAL SURPRISE: REVENANT

That’s right, we’ve left the best for last. Many of you have realized that a second expansion is coming: Revenant.

    REVENANT:

Years have passed since the crew of the Defiance returned from their voyage through the Archeron wormhole. Having had their official records re-instated, and any slander’s expunged, they now work as free agents and soldiers of fortune under their very own mercenary brand: Revenant Mobile Intervention Force. Allied with a motley group of collaborators, including an impetuous Morat renegade called Kendriat, and a Tohaa operator with unsettling abilities known as Jaan Staar.

The MIF (Mobile Intervention Force) earns its namesake from the newly re-titled Revenant. The infamous ship, formally known as the Defiance, the first-ever human ship to reach Combined Army space and return to tell the tale.

Now embroiled in what some would call a “shady deal”, the crew of the Revenant will face off against John Hackwood and the prestigious White Company...

    This expansion includes:

    4 new heroes:

Haqqislam enemy cards and more about Revenant

Welcome to another Infinity Defiance update.

We’ve hit another round number! 800K€! Thank you so much for your support.

We unlocked cards and tokens for Haqqislam, including Tarik Mansuri and Kawarijs.

    TARIK MANSURI

Mansuri is a living legend. He was one of the first Khawarij to undergo Runihura, Haqqislam’s foremost gene therapy super-soldier program. His exceptional metabolism and superior fitness were particularly and surprisingly suited to the treatment. Mansuri’s organism reacted to the Runihura formula in unique ways, making the most of each metabolic enhancement and cancelling out potentially harmful oxidation processes. Since that day, his body has barely aged, always in perfect health and always at the top of his game. He has become a colossus, his extraordinary strength tempered by exquisite precision and quick reactions. His mind is always clear, his senses always honed. He can move faster and kill more easily than any man. The utter perfection achieved by Mansuri stands as the greatest accomplishment of the Runihura program, one that has not been replicated ever since.

    KAWARIJS

The military-religious brotherhood of Khawarijs, the “Red Turbans”, was founded by a group of HaqqMuztazilite sages to protect Haqqislam from its foreign and domestic enemies. It is a tough, audacious light assault force that recruits its members individually. After a rigorous vetting process, inductees are subjected to Runihura (Destructor), a super-soldier program of intensive genetic enhancement. The main effects of the physical augmentation therapy are increased strength and endurance and enhanced reaction times. Runihura makes every last one of them look like they can subdue a crocodile with their bare hands, but Khawarijs spend as much time studying as training for combat, to the point that they are given the title of ulema, scholars of the Faith. They are highly honored by Haqqislamite society and its army, but their strict code of honor as soldiers of Allah requires them to always be subordinate to Haqqislamite precepts.

Their character is dignified yet meek, ferocious yet magnanimous, devoted but never proselytizing, in a “wise contradiction and perfect balance”. Khawarijs believe that Haqqislam can never triumph by straying from the Word of Allah, of which they are sworn defenders. In their mind, the Word can be as sharp as any sword, but they will not hesitate to resort to actual swords if necessary. As a matter of fact, they are excellent warriors to a man, and a shining example to all other Haqqislamite soldiers. They are a common sight in the retinues of Haqqislamite officers as counsellors and bodyguards, and also in the first line of battle, leading assaults like living emblems of the Haqqislamite virtues of resolve, bravery, and perseverance.

    LIFE ON THE DEFIANCE
Want to know what happens on the Defiance between missions? You can find out in this article: Life on the Defiance.

    DEFIANCE HERO SUMMARY
The following heroes have been unlocked:

CORE BOX: We all know the heroes of the Core Box: Uma, Cadin, Qiang Gāo, and Jazz. Also the additional unlocked hero’s Trisha and Rahman. They’re all the basic heroes that’ll begin the adventure aboard the Defiance.

OUTCAST: additional heroes have been unlocked, with the first expansion.

Katherine Cho, is a born leader and officer from O-12. Her skills focus on leadership and backing up those with a more active part in the fight. She’ll have a control and support role and is in charge, period.

Raoul Spector is a mercenary for whom lying comes as natural as breathing. As an expert in stealth and melee combat, his skills focus on powering up his specialties.

Fat Yuan Yuan is always happy to fight for dough. There’s nothing more important to him than some nice loot, and he’ll fight tooth and nail to get it.

Uxía McNeill is a living legend and rumored to be one of the best markswomen in the Human Sphere. Her strength is ranged combat, she’s relentless, and no target can escape her. She’s the friend you always want watching your back.

Lei Gong is an expert in heavy weapons. With his high mobility armor, he’s quick and has great offensive capabilities.

Shinobu Kitsune is the master of stealth, a ninja that attacks from the shadows. She is absolutely lethal.

REVENANT: another expansion that presents 4 additional heroes for Infinity Defiance.

Jaan Staar is a Tohaa who’s an expert impersonator. He is equipped with symbiote armor and other biotechnological elements. His absolute loyalty lies with the Spiral Corps.

Kendrat is a renegade Krakot. If you were to look up for the word “soldier” in a dictionary, you’d find her face. An expert in the management of explosives and combat skills. Trouble follows her everywhere.

John Hawkwood is a mercenary officer. A clear leader on the battlefield. His roles include support and control, but he also has great offensive capabilities.

Valerya Gromoz, hails from Corregidor, she is ace with her hacking device. Her offensive skills are a match for her elite hacking skills.

Heroes may be used as you see fit, and you can play with heroes in any combination in both the core game or either of the expansions.

For the perfect narrative, we recommend playing the Core then Outcast, and Revenant. However This is not obligatory and when a new expansion begins, the heroes will “reset” and begin their evolution anew.

    REVENANT
Here’s a video update, with the details on the last expansion.

Remember that if we hit the 850K€ mark, Revenant will come free with the PLATINIUM pledge, so remember to share this Kickstarter with all your friends!

    ENEMY SUBSTITUTION TABLE
We’ve updated the Reinforcement Packs’ enemy substitution table. Remember that the cards and tokens to play them are included in Core, Outcast, and Revenant game expansions. The Reinforcements Packs only contain the matching miniatures from the current Corvus Belli catalog.

Haqqislam Enemy Cards (Zhayedan & Al Fasid) and Jaan Star’s Infinity profile!

We have another new update for Infinity Defiance!

Thank you so much for helping us hit the 820K€ mark!

We have unlocked the Haqqislam cards, including Zhayedan and Al Fasid.

    Zhayedan

The Zhayedan Intervention Unit, wryly called “the Immortals” by their enemies, who find it hard to take them down. Veterans of dozens of battles, Zhayedans are old warhorses, seasoned soldiers, professionals to the core who have survived everything the chaos of war could throw at them.

    Al Fasid

The Al Fasid (‘The Corrupted’) Regiment accepts only soldiers with a solid operational record who can live up to their grueling battery of admission tests. Beyond proving their ability to do the job, applicants are not expected to answer any questions about their past, which is simply assumed to be checkered.

The regiment is infamous for their aggressive combat methods and their willingness to go to any lengths to snatch a victory. This reputation has earned them the epithet of ‘The Seven Times Accursed’. No Al Fasid is a model of Haqqislamite virtue, but they don’t seem to care in the least. These soldiers don’t fight for the glory: they fight because they need to earn a living, because they enjoy it, or because it’s the only thing they know how to do well.

This stretch goal is available for free with the Revenant expansion.

The Haqqislam’s Reinforcement Pack is also now unlocked.

This pack includes the following high-quality metal miniatures:

    ● 1 Tarik Mansuri (Spitfire)

    ● 1 Khawarij (Rifle + Light Shotgun)

    ● 1 Khawarij (Mk12)

    ● 1 Khawarij (Boarding Shotgun)

    ● 1 Zhayedan (Breaker Rifle + Light Shotgun)

    ● 1 Zhayedan (HMG)

    ● 1 Zhayedan Doctor Plus (Boarding Shotgun)

    ● 1 Al Fasid (HMG)

HAQQISLAM (from the Arabic Haqq Islam, New Islam)

Religious doctrine derived from Islamism, and its associated Neomuslim culture. A modern interpretation of the set of dogmas and precepts of the Quran that permeates the everyday lives of its followers. Founded by Farhad Khadivar in the late 21st century, the Haqqislamic movement proposed a philosophical and theological revisionism of the classical Islam, in order to adapt it to the society of its time. Haqqislam proclaims Humanism, the Search for Knowledge, and a set of Metaphysical axioms influenced by Sufi scholars, as the foundations of its doctrine, while simultaneously rejecting religious hierarchies and Sunnah, ‘tradition’, as dogma. Their doctrine is profoundly concerned with political and social issues, and the culture built around it has rekindled the scientific and artistic heirloom of the golden age of Islam.

This add-on is available for 45€.

Remember, the Reinforcement Pack only includes miniatures. Tokens and cards are already included in the Revenant expansion.

    MICRO-GOAL

Also, we’ve unlocked the micro-goal from the last update!

Here is, Jaan Star’s Infinity profile.

    JAAN STAAR, IMPOSTOR KIUUTAN
Lies and death: these are the two words my life is built upon. Just like many others, I am one of those who were displaced by violence in the war against the invading forces of the Combined Army. My family being dead or lost in the territory occupied by the Ur Hegemony, I spent my youth in one of the overcrowded Trinomial refugee centers, where gangs exert their control with fists and knives. These centers are the favorite recruiting spots of the Trident, the Tohaa army, because in them it can find highly motivated individuals hardened through violence. The Trident offers these displaced people a way out of all that terror and violence, a weapon, and the possibility of hurting those who are responsible for the miserable situation they have been subjected to. This is what I was offered, more death and lies: death, both that which I dealt and that of my comrades who fell one by one under the bulldozer of the Combined Army, and lies, such as that we could wipe out the EI simply by following our commanders’ orders. It’s an absolute fallacy, told at the expense of the lives of too many good Tohaa, because the Trident is losing the war and can do nothing to change this. This is why I embraced the cause of the Triumvirate, a secret organization pulling the strings of power, unwilling to allow any moral objection to stand in the way of victory against the EI. The Triumvirate took me in, trained me, and made death and lies my working tools. In the army I learned how to kill and to do so silently, so the Triumvirate instructors turned me into a Kiiutan Imposter. I learned how to imitate others and to use a specialized symbiont armor. I was subjected to extreme biomodifications, including virotherapy to redesign my genetic identity, which allows me to alter my appearance in order to impersonate others. While it’s true that all these experimental recombination treatments cause a certain mental instability, due to my life trajectory this was not something new for me, and they taught me to turn schizophrenia into a tactical advantage, making me an adversary always unpredictable, always unexpected. For years I worked as an agent for the Triumvirate, stealing, spying, and killing anyone who posed a threat to our plans. I performed military actions, but also those of a political and even economic nature, such as facilitating the awarding of contracts for the reconstruction of the Aldreec colonies, supplanting one of the executives of a competing company in order to remove it from the tenders. Finally, I was transferred to the Paradiso front in human territory, where the Triumvirate is carrying out a long-term clandestine operation. There I joined the mercenary company Spiral Corps, which is nothing more than a cover that allows us to move freely within the Human Sphere. As a mercenary, I can go wherever I want and I can work with whomever I want, always with a perfect smile, be it my own or my imitation of someone else’s, never revealing my impersonation skills, which humans are unaware of since we do not want them to distrust us, the Tohaa, their best allies. I am a very successful Spiral Corps operative, but nobody—with the exception of my fellow Tohaa—knows about my special skills. And thus, lies keep defining my life, lies as well as death, since in the end everything comes down to this: killing somebody, Shasvastii, Morat, Tohaa, or human. The species, age, or gender do not matter. Limitations do not exist for us who are truly committed to defending our race at any price, a price I will gladly pay in the blood of our enemies. Because after all, mental instability, along with lies and death, is another one of my defining traits.

You realize you are talking about an alien race and in particular about a secret paramilitary sub-faction that is paranoid of loosing the war to the point of betraying the fundamental core principles the entire race has and the main reason why they are at war.

The line is superb in pointing out how evil the triumvirate are and how low they will go in lying and manipulating anybody in order to get their way.

Maybe, you could also say it is the nearest human language translation of what an alien would say, in any case the whole point is Triumvirate are evil and will use and abuse veterans of their own race, even if they are in their most vulnerable, cracked by fighting a prolonged and loosing war of attrition, as expendable pawns to further their goals.

    Anyway latest update.

    850K Revenant Free (Platinum Pledge)

Great Job, everyone! Today has been a spectacular day.

We made it to 850k! Thanks a million! This is amazing!

Do you know what this means? The Revenant expansion will be included for free with all PLATINUM pledges.

It will also be available as an add-on for all other pledge levels with a price of € 45.

But wait, we have unlocked even more! Including the enemy cards for Emily, Uhahu, and Knauf, of the Starco mercenary faction.

    Knauf

Renowned sniper and undercover asset. Maximally efficient at all combat ranges. Recent intel marks him as ‘burned out’ for all infiltration purposes. Current status: in retirement; whereabouts unknown.

    Emily Handelman, Intel Agent

The youngest and most ambitious officer in the Hexahedron. Skilled at leadership roles, negotiation, and manipulation. Proficient with short-range firearms. Considered a liability for her low tolerance for failure, she has nevertheless proven herself to be pragmatic and obstinate in her duty.

    Uhahu, Hacker for Hire

Confidential data assembled from the “Irregular Group of Lost Children from Baker Module, Tunguska” dossier: First-class hacking prodigy. Negligible combat skills; escort required. Tendency toward introversion; known history of war psychosis and PTSD.

This unlock will be included for free in the Revenant expansion.

We have also unlocked card sleeves for the expansions.

These sleeves cover enough for one expansion. So 2 add-ons will be required to be able to sleeve both Outcast and Revenant.

This add-on is available for all pledges at a price of € 10.

We are planning an all-in pledge. So stay tuned.

We know that the MEGALODRON is a big deal, and we have managed to unlock its profile as well as special Infinity missions. You can download them here.

Childish in what way and compared to what? you do not know even if an alien monologueing about himself has the same psychological reactions as a human, or even if he has such condition or has been indoctrinated by the triumvirate to believe what he says and we talk about a faction that is known to do exactly that, case point Armand.

I do not get what you say about combined? they are the enemy in the first campaign that is 12 missions (or 13), they are not the enemy in the second campaign and we know nothing about the third, but probably they should not be.

    Starco Reinforcement Pack
    Hello again backers!

    We have reached 880k! Congratulations.

And with that, we have unlocked the last of the Starco cards: Brawlers and Mobile Brigade.

    BRAWLERS, MERCENARY ENFORCERS

“Violence is the Solution”. The unofficial motto of the Brawlers.

Mercenaries come in all shapes and sizes. You have the professional types, trained soldiers that blend seamlessly into a military chain of command; and then you have the thrill-seekers, thugs who figure they can get their adrenaline fix, knock a few heads and get paid for it, but don’t have the discipline to pass muster in a regular force. The latter is slightly cheaper and much more prevalent. They rarely spend much time at a single location or company; instead, they scurry like cockroaches on to their next hustle whenever they get bored or the consequences of their actions finally catch up to them. They fit the ‘mercenary’ stereotype most people have in their heads, which is basically just another word for ‘hooligan,’ but the most common name for them nowadays comes from a speech by the General Councilor of the Bureau Athena. She said in the O-12 Öberhaus that a line of work that offers excitement and high wages in exchange for a nomadic lifestyle, low job security, and near-certain death must “appeal to no-one but the lowest denomination of brawler.” As these things go, her speech went viral and mercs all over the place started claiming the word ‘brawler’ for themselves, wearing it as a literal badge even. From there, it was a matter of time before terms like ‘Brawler Brotherhood’ and ‘Brawler Pride’ started being thrown around. Anyway, I’ll grant you that Brawlers aren’t the best nor the brightest, even for private military folk. They’re usually castoffs from regular infantry, rather than former Special Forces or the like. The important thing to keep in mind about them is they don’t traffic in subtlety. Whatever problem you put in front of them, their first instinct will be to use intimidation to deal with it, and failing that they will leap straight to armed assault. So, yeah, I’d say the name ‘Brawler’ very much applies.

    MOBILE BRIGADAS

Mobile Brigadas are the foremost regiment of the Corregidor heavy infantry. These are sturdy, versatile troops who shine both in defensive and offensive missions. Their everyday routine as members of the main assault force in the Nomad Military Force includes taking the brunt of whatever fight they are involved in. Which is just as well, as they might be the only ones with the staying power and tactical know-how to endure constant combat. In addition to the usual tasks given to heavy infantries, Brigadas serve a key purpose as an implied threat to any customers of Corregidor who might be tempted to abuse their newly hired labor. In the past, some of the most brazen breaches of contract against Corregidorian workers have been resolved with a ‘hostile takeover’ in the form of Mobile Brigada units forcefully occupying entire compounds. The infringing companies were forced to buy back their own facilities by settling their debt with Corregidor. Their position as defenders of worker’s rights makes them a treasured institution to Corregidorians, who know these armored heroes have their backs at all times. Naturally, Brigadas are also in the Corregidor product portfolio as mercenary troops. Their technical training, their unquestionable bravery and the weight of their word make Brigadas some of the most sought after soldiers in the mercenary market.

    Neema

Neema Saatar's life was always determined by a war against the great adversary: the EI and its conquering instrument, the Combined Army. At the age of four, Neema was the last person to be evacuated from Agreda, her home planet. Her father threw her into the arms of the gunner manning the last shuttle leaving the planet's surface. Navigation cameras recorded that instant - the gunner firing while shouting that the transport was already overloaded, the face of Neema’s father's contorting as he threw his daughter inside the crowded cargo hold, the chaos of the takeoff while the access ramp closed, and the Morat bullets hammering into her father’s body once the shuttle’s gunner ceased firing. Those images flew across the entire Tohaa data net as an example of the destiny that awaited their civilization should they succumb to the advances of the EI. The government took care of little Neema, giving her an education and making her a symbol of all the war orphans. Raised, educated and indoctrinated to become a living symbol of Tohaa resistance, Neema decided to dedicate her entire life to combating her family's assassins. She attended the prestigious Vaalaro Officer’s Academy and Berteela Advanced Combat School, and wherever she went, everyone recognized her face, ever-present in governmental propaganda. Step by step, almost without noticing, recognition became leadership. When Neema talked, everyone stood silently and admired this woman whose eyes shone with a cold and contained fire. However, her great transformation came with her military baptism of fire. The high scores of her instruction became awesome feasts of war, her stoic character at training camp became unrelenting courage, and the charisma deployed at school debates transformed into the capability for irresistible leadership. In battle Neema always runs ahead, leading the combat formation, spurred on by an urge for vengeance that consumes her entirely, focusing her on her objective. And with her attitude, she sweeps along all those combatants under her command who, united with her by the unbreakable bond of brotherhood of arms, follow her ever forwards. Under her command, the sound of her troops charging is that of the entire Tohaa race rushing to take its freedom back. In her wake, Tohaa soldiers run swiftly and vigorously, their war cries rebounding across the battlefield until they reach the skies.

    Kaeltar

The Kaeltar Specialists make up the difficult situations unit of the Tohaa Trident. They have been trained in the complex Corahtar discipline to control the SymbioMates who provide vital support by improving units that use symbiotic gear and who are expected to face particularly hostile and bloody resistance. Their primary task is to use their pheromonic tools and abilities to contain and reduce enemy aggression. Meanwhile, with their terrible SymbioBombs, they can increase the offensive potential of troops wearing symbiotic armor. However, the Kaeltar Specialists’ tactical acumen goes beyond this. Because of their highly technical specialization and their particular profile, always intervening in high-risk operations, all Kaeltar are high ranking non-commissioned officers with ample experience in the field. For this reason, the Kaeltar always keeps a cool head in the midst of chaos and is capable of taking command when the team leader falls and the situation becomes impossible. In a unit such as the Kaeltar Specialists, the question is not whether the mission they’ve been given will go to hell, but rather when it will go to hell and how much it will hurt. It is at this moment that they show what they’re worth. Crammed into their uniforms and surrounded by all that esoteric pheromonic gear, the Kaeltar exudes vibrant tranquility, as though beneath there was a latent fire within, a fire that needs only the kindling of disaster in order to overflow and take control.

    Last 48 hours!

Only 48 hours left in this exciting project!

We want to thank everyone for the support, this has been so spectacular!

We have added the following video to summerize everything that has happened the past few days.

Since the last update, we have managed to unlock many things.

A new mission featuring John Hawkwood as the villain!

    JOHN HAWKWOOD, MERCENARY OFFICER
For those whose life is like a ballistic missle, all power and momentum, there may not be a delta-v that modifies their trajectory so much as the name they carry. This seems to be the case of the mercenary officer known as John Hawkwood, whose life seems to be a constant struggle to imitate and exceed that of his historical namesake. The John Hawkwood in the history books was the most important condottiero, a mercenary captain, in 14th-century Italy, and the current one isn’t lagging far behind, but on a larger global scale. After a successful career in the PanOceanian Military Complex, taking part both in combat actions to defend PanOceanian interests and in joint operations by international forces under O-12 command, Hawkwood realized he lacked the political connections necessary to achieve his military ambitions. So he opted for the private sector, where his experience was widely recognized and valued—more than in the PanOceanian army—and was also far better paid for. Soon after, Hawkwood was already assembling a small mercenary group that would be the seed of his White Company, and whose name is another example of the weight of his name's legacy. Under his command, this squad distinguished itself during the NeoColonial Wars, especially in the Reconquest of the Lusiads, fighting on the PanOceanian side, and in the Dádān Raid on Varuna, fighting for Yu Jing. The reputation he gained during this conflict would open the doors to a collaborative contract with the Special Situations Section of ALEPH, a great opportunity to rub shoulders with the elite of the mercenary market and the beginning of a successful and meteoric career in a Human Sphere torn apart by internal struggles.

Nevertheless, all this success is well deserved, the result of a skillful balance between courage and intelligence. Hawkwood is a calculating and precise man with nerves of steel, essentially a professional soldier and not a paladin who pursues heroic deeds. He’s a leader who never takes foolish risks and always knows what he is doing. However, this doesn't mean he won’t get his hands dirty: after having earned his stripes through perseverance and courage, he still prefers to be a commander on the field rather than from an office. It’s because of this attitude and his leadership style that he has a biosynthetic body, the consequence of having been seriously wounded during an operation in the Ariadna Commercial Conflicts in which he almost lost his life. Interestingly, the fact that he uses a Lhost has given rise to certain accusations— especially from Nomad Black Propaganda—that, in fact, Hawkwood is a clandestine Recreation financed by ALEPH so as to have its own agent in the mercenary market to carry out covert operations following the alleged secret agenda of the AI. Despite none of these accusations having been proven, they have not been officially denied either. Hawkwood, just like his historical counterpart, is not a very talkative man; he never divulges his plans unless it’s essential, and he has not bothered to refute these allegations. Curiously enough, they even seem to amuse him, in addition to being a way to make his legend grow and an unexpected source of publicity, both for him and his company.

If Hawkwood is to be assessed as a mercenary, fidelity must be highlighted as the dominant trait of his character. Once a contract is signed, his clients can rely entirely on him and his dedication, as he will fight for them with cold, professional, integrity, without injecting his personal opinions. This professionalism, which takes precedence over money, has earned him a reputation for reliability that is rare in the mercenary market, and has opened doors to major contracts for him. On the field, Hawkwood is a tough fighter, but not a cruel one, and he always remembers what a hostile chronicler wrote about his historical namesake during the Sacking of Cesena: “Hawkwood, who is not to be held entirely infamous, spared the lives of the rebels.” This is not his only similarity with the English condottiero. Like him, Hawkwood is a skillful officer in the management of his troops, and he is always mindful of the welfare of those under his command, who have a deep affection for him. With the White Company, Hawkwood has a small army that he masterfully commands, a disciplined force hardened in battle, which no other man could lead. Anyone who can afford to hire him will have at their disposal a shrewd tactician, an unwavering warrior, and a guarantee of success, just as his name obliges.

This stretch goal will be available in the Revenant expansion.

We also have unlocked another Tesseum Goal (our favorite kind). With three new double-sided tiles that add even more variability to map layouts.

This unlock is included free within the Revenant expansion.

We have also added even more Spiral Corps enemy cards.

    IGAO
Few people see an Igao and live to tell about it. Usually they just glimpse a shiny blade, followed by the eternal darkness. This is because the Igao are the killing ghosts of the Tohaa Trident. This is a clandestine team conceived to perform black operations, which is the reason why their members cannot leave any trace or witnesses. Some say they are an urban legend, but not the professional intel analysts, who doubt an Igao can be defeated. As they say, the only way to survive one of these assassins is to always keep below his radar and never face him.

    KERAIL PERCEPTOR
In the distant past, Corahtar was a widespread discipline in rural areas, where self-taught Preceptors traditionally relied on their innate pheromonal skills for animal husbandry. As Tohaa society embraced industrialization, this approach was progressively abandoned. Technology made trained beasts redundant for most purposes, but the practice of Corahtar never disappeared. Instead, honed to professional standards, these abilities were repurposed for specialized auxiliary occupations such as emergency services, surveying, animal research, law enforcement and, naturally, military applications.

Kerail Preceptors are the modern tactical interpretation of this ancient profession. With their assistance, the Tohaa Trident can deploy units of SymbioBeasts to spearhead its ground forces. By dint of exacting joint instruction sessions with their Preceptors, SymbioBeasts train their close combat aptitudes and specialize in either of two basic operational roles, each with its own codename. Isolated from its master, a SymbioBeast is a brainless, feral animal, but a well-commanded SymbioBeast becomes an efficient herald of death that can sow fear in the heart of any foe. Predictably, handling these ferocious creatures is not a task for the fainthearted, and the number Kerail, 5020, has become a symbol of triumph in the minds of the Tohaa. Anyone capable of meeting such a challenge is bound to succeed in any endeavor. Kerail Preceptors embody victory through a level of self-discipline and self-assurance that can obliterate all opposition. Once they catch the scent of their foes, nothing can distract the Kerail and their SymbioBeasts from their quarry. They lunge into battle with the speed and single-mindedness of a flying arrow. The certitude that nothing is beyond their power wins them every battle.

    SIMBIOBEAST
The genetic foundation of the SymbioBeasts fielded by Kerail Preceptors is the symbiotic lifeform known as Heraal. This entity is mounted on a Sirgee host, a powerhouse of muscle and sinew incapable of complex thought. Adjoined to a Heraal, the Sirgee’s mind becomes vulnerable to pheromonal manipulation, and its cognitive faculties experience a rapid improvement. Once the combination is complete, the creatures cease to be mere animals and become a single SymbioBeast, a killing instrument delicately operated by its Kerail Preceptor. Tohaa bioengineers have created different Heraal breeds for distinct tactical purposes, and the SymbioBeasts they produce have different designations and armaments. Mutan SymbioBeasts are fitted with both ballistic and nanotechnological weaponry for ranged combat. On the other hand, the bulky Surda are the product of a Heraal capable of enhancing its Sirgee’s physical attributes beyond their natural limits, making them an ideal close combat assault unit. Either way, a well-trained SymbioBeast makes a valuable asset to the Tohaa Trident and a fearsome sight to its enemies.

Spiral Corps enemy cards and tokens are included in the Revenant expansion.

Now that the Tohaa enemy cards have been unlocked, we have added the Spiral Corps Reinforcement Pack.

This pack includes the following high-quality metal miniatures:

    1 Neema (Spitfire)
    1 Igao (CC Weapon)
    1 Igao (Boarding Shotgun)
    1 Kaeltar (Light Shoutgun)
    2 Symbiomates
    1 Kerail Preceptor (Light Shotgun)
    1 Mutan SymbioBeast
    1 Surda SymbioBeast
Remember that Reinforcement Packs only include miniatures because the cards and tokens are already included with the Revenant Expansion.

Extra bodies to complete the heroes in normal and alternative poses was the most consistent and demanded thing in this kickstarter.

    The million is coming...
Thank you so much for the support!

We are in the final countdown and we are very excited.

    What have we unlocked?
    We have a new mission!

These are the missions where Valerya Gromoz will be the enemy to beat.

    Valerya Gromoz
It is hard to be an Atek in PanOceania. Especially if your parents are typical autonomous workers run down by the global economy. And even more so if you live in a remote village in the mountains of Albania, where the only place of interest is a satellite tracking base, full of military technicians. So, being fifteen years old, and with no possibility of a higher education, started out as a waitress. This allowed her to get to know the technicians from the base. Technicians love to talk about their job, so Valerya asked questions and listened, learning and improving her knowledge until she could learn no more. At that point, she gathered her equipment, which was part given to her and part stolen, and with her savings and a fistful of petabytes worth of military software stolen from her boyfriends, she moved out to Tirana. The trip from there to the Orbital Elevator of East Africa was very nice, thanks to the good work of the Druze corporations.

An Orbital Elevator is the best place to find a job, especially for a young Hacker who can balance her inexperience with plenty of cyber-warfare gear. Five years in the Nomad Foreign Company provided her with the military instruction she lacked. And three years as part of a Haqqislamite corsair crew taught her where the real money lies. With her record and hard earned reputation, she could get by without resorting to any middlemen. That’s the reason she became a professional free-lance Hacker, jumping from one contract to another, without any responsibilities or ties. Meanwhile, her bank account has increased along with her prestige. It’s a long way from her Atek origins, but Valerya hasn’t banked on any false hopes. She knows perfectly well that the job is dangerous and that death is waiting for her at the end, so don’t expect a tariff reduction from her.

This unlock is free into Revenant expansion.

We have also unlocked new enemy cards from the Dahshat Company.

    Saito Togan
There is a rumor going around bars where people who know their weapons tend to gather. A rumor about a dead man. Or, perhaps more accurately, a man who “ought to be dead”. The rumor, and it is no more than that, is related to the downfall of the Ônishi clan and the man who brought shame to it: Saito Ônishi.

The Ônishi clan was the most reputed ninja clan in the Aomori prefecture, and Saito Ônishi was their best man, the man who conducted the most treacherous missions. Saito owed his success to his meticulous planning of operations and the swiftness and stealth with which he executed his plans. He was destined to be head of the Ônishi clan, but one night it all fell apart during a delicate mission. The operation was a disaster: the girl they were supposed to rescue ended up dead, along with Saito’s support team and every single kidnapper.

With no one to interrogate, the reputation of the clan was at stake. The duty of Saito Ônishi was now to report to the family of the deceased hostage and show sumimasen, eternal contrition, by offering his life as an apology for his mistakes.

But Saito never showerd up, thus dishonoring his own name and his clan. He became an outcast.

Both his own clan and the family of the murdered hostage put bounties on him, and soon he was killed by an Ônishi ninja commando in a blaze of justice and vengeance. That was the end of Saito Ônishi, but it is not the end of this story. Months later, Yoshitsune Ônishi, Saito’s replacement, was found dead in his home. Some say that they found on him video evidence that linked him to the kidnappers of that poor girl. Whatever the case, the Ônishi clan put a cork on it and no one looked any further into the matter.

Ever since, there is a new player on the mercenary circuit, an exceptionally stealthy assassin known as Saito Tōgan. He is an expert martial artist with a technique that apparently greatly resembles that of a notorious, ill-fated Ônishi ninja….

    Hunzakut
Hunzakuts are members of infiltration units with a specialization in mountainous terrain. They are experts in alpinism, guerrilla tactics, incursions into enemy territory, camouflage, ambush attacks…the list goes on. By dint of hunting the fearsome jaguars that inhabit the Gabqar mountains, they have developed a knack for concealment. Hunzakuts are so comfortable laying in ambush that they like to wait around a mountain pass for a patrol that might not even use it. But if an enemy patrol does pass through, they are in for a massacre: they lose half their men before they can even locate the source of the incoming fire. By the time they can coordinate a counterattack, they find there is no-one left to shoot at. The Hunzakuts have scurried away into the rocks, like lizards…

    Bashi Bazouk
The Bashi Bazouks are mercenary adventurers contracted to be part of the corsair crews in service to the Sultan and great lords of the Silk trade. Integrated into Search and Sweep Teams, their mission is to go through a boarded ship, eliminating resistance points and searching for interesting stuff. These are the kind of labors in which none can deny their effectiveness. Although most of them possess a military past, the Bashi Bazouks have forgotten everything about discipline and respect for authority. As boarding groups they form a turbulent, obdurate and colorful gang that devastates target ships with chaotic wildness. Rogues and crooks without any conscience or respect for law, these undisciplined troops live only for their own profit and are sometimes hard to control. Their raids, and the damage they cause, are widely infamous, but the greatest scandal was the Al-Umara Station Massacre during the Silk Revolts, in which hundreds of civilians were slaughtered. Since that event, the name Bashi Bazouk has become a pejorative term. However, the utility of the Bashi Bazouks has permitted them to survive their bad reputation, and while greed still governs inter-stellar commerce, there will always be a mission for these unruly opportunists.

This unlock is free into Revenant Expansion.

    THANK YOU!

We are so incredibly thankful for the amazing reception of Infinity Defiance. We have managed to unlock € 1,000,000!

Now there are only 24 exciting hours left...

We have unlocked new Enemy cards for Dahshat Company. These enemies include Haqqislam Remotes and Zuyong Invincibles.

    HAQQISLAM REMOTES
The operational philosophy of the Haqqislamite army is based on the deployment of mobile, maneuverable light units. This creates added pressure on their support units, who struggle to keep pace with the main attack force.

In this context, Remotes are an economical and effective option for mobile tactical support, an ideal addition to the deployment of heavy armored units such as Magharibas, and a welcome reinforcement for light infantry operatives. The different models of Murafeq Remotes, a name that means literally “Companion”, have names of Arabic origin.

A Rafiq, for Bedouins, was a local guide who escorted caravans as a guarantor and peacekeeper. The Rafiq Remote serves a similar purpose, locating the enemy, feeding information about battlefield conditions and giving friendly Tactical Hackers a wider area of influence.

The Fanous (Lamp) Remote is used purely to maximize the operational radius of these Tactical Hackers. Shihab was the name of a meteorite, a piece of shooting star with the supernatural capacity to kill a djinn. Area control Shihab Remotes, with their extensive weaponry systems, are capable of killing djinns or, indeed anything that enters their line of fire.

Shaytaniyah Remotes are mobile long-range artillery support teams equipped with an efficient comms system that allows them to stand out of danger zones while doing their job. This way, the only one in jeopardy is the forward observer, who selects and flags targets soon to be obliterated by the Remote’s missiles.

Haqqislamite artillery Remotes are dubbed Shaytaniyah (diabolical) for their terrifying destructive potential.

    ZUYONG INVINCIBLES, TERRACOTTA SOLDIERS
The Terracotta Warriors are an army of statues that guard the mausoleum of the emperor Qin Shi Huangdi, who unified and founded the Chinese empire. The mission of these sculpted troops was to protect the Emperor and his grand empire in the afterlife. Emperor Qin fought for the idea of an all-encompassing China, “All under Heaven”. This same idea is now incarnated in and defended by the Zúyong Invincibles. Spread throughout Yu Jing territory, they have become the nucleus of the State Empire Army as the largest Heavy Infantry corps in the Human Sphere. No military force can equip as many soldiers with servo-powered armor. Other regiments and armies can claim to have the most advanced technology, but the Zúyong have what they need to see their duty through. Everything else they make up for in skill and determination. Not in vain are they considered to be one of the better-trained regiments in the Sphere: few can even imagine how rigorous and unforgiving a Yu Jing military academy can be. Perseverance, a radical sense of discipline, an absolute disregard for suffering, a lack of hesitation when asked to make superhuman efforts, and an excellent tactical preparation help explain the nature of the invincibility of these soldiers.

To them, there is no honor or duty beyond defending the lands and the perfect cause of the State Empire, so when duty calls the Zúyong waste no time in answering. The commitment of these men and women is boundless. For the Terracotta Warriors, there is always an injustice to remedy, an evil to eradicate. Forged as anonymous heroes, each one of them represents every Yu Jing citizen. And, when the fateful time comes, they will be standing firm, undaunted by the challenge; unflinching like the terracotta armies of the emperor’s tomb, but utterly prepared to carry the State Empire to glory with endless courage and an iron will.

This unlock will be included for free in the Revenant expansion.

We also have a new Reinforcement Pack! This Reinforcement Pack is the Dahshat Company.

It includes the following high-quality metal miniatures:

    1 Zúyòng (Combi Rifle)
    1 Shihab remote (HMG)
1 Shaytaniyah Remote (Smart Missile Launcher)
This Reinforcement Pack is an add-on with a price of € 45.

The million unlock pack is here!

Additional parts to complete two versions of the heroes of the Core game(Uma, Cadin, Jazz and Qiang Gao). Available free for COLLECTOR'S, DELUXE and PLATINUM Pledges.
Core heroes Enemy Cards (Uma, Cadin, Jazz and Qiang Gao) will be available in the OUTCAST expansion.

This unlockable is an add-on of € 35. The quality of the sleeves is Premium.

The Enemy Cards of Raoul Spector and Katherine Cho (Outcast expansion) have been unlocked, with them, you can play these characters as enemies.

The cards are included in the Outcast expansion.

And we have a new hero, it is a new miniature of Kassandra Kusanagi.

    KASSANDRA KUSANAGI
We have to bring this ship to safety. We have to kill them all, except for one, to make him talk. We are going to find out who they are and for whom they work, and we’ll make sure they are not going to hurt us ever again. Because that’s what the Observance is for. That’s what we are for.”

Reverend Kusanagi, transmitted by intercom, Violent Intermission.

In the Observance of Holy Mary of the Knife, Cassandra Kusanagi is considered a true celebrity. Tough, dangerous and with a past full of corpses to prove it, she was the greatest heroine of Bakunin’s Violent Intermission. Kusanagi managed to detect ALEPH’s infiltration commandos on the ship and knew how to deal with them, coordinating the Observance forces from the frontline to repel the attack. Sadly, no tangible evidence to implicate ALEPH was obtained in the offensive, which was completely shattered thanks to her efforts.

The veteran Superior Cassandra Kusanagi has thirty five years as an active Reverend Moira. Her youthful appearance is due to anti-agathic and physical improvement treatments with biosynthetic implants. She is a cold woman, slender and silent as death. Her face, which usually holds the serenity of a mask, has been trained to show only what her owner wants it to show. Her movements have the softness of a Hindu dancer but with something coldly reptilian underlying them… Kusanagi can be compared to an ancient ceremonial sword: elegant and distinguished, but also sharp and lethal, like the steel with which she was forged. Her combat experience is so wide and varied that, at her side, the most veteran soldier seems like a newbie recruit. She has served as a Bakunin operative and as a Nomad Military Force regular trooper, as an Observance operative and as a covert agent of the Black Hand. She has faced soldiers, TAGs, pirates, alien troops, government agents and Aspects of ALEPH, and survived every one of them. Her presence in combat terrifies and her outbreaks of religious fury cause those around her to shiver. Kusanagi is not like any other dangerous and independent individual you may have known or imagined… she is much worse.

    Thank you!!

    We can only say...

    THANK YOU!

In the last few hours, we have been able to unlock the extra mission for Cassandra Kusanagi.

As well as a new hero with a totally new miniature: Father Lucien Sforza!

    FATHER LUCIEN SFORZA
Father Sforza is a unique bounty hunter and adventurer who was a clergyman and still wears a clerical collar. His face is long, serious and pale, with sharp, black, glazed eyes, and such beautiful hands that they would seem to belong to an angel. His look is impressive, and he radiates an aura of terror and respect. He walks with long, elegant strides, and has the appearance of a murderous gentleman. He is an educated man, skillful and active, but marked with the hot iron of disgrace. If he had continued his ecclesiastical career he could have possibly become a saint, albeit a frightening and gloomy one. His clothes and weapons look clean but are worn from use. All of his weaponry is customized and personalized like a gunslinger’s. Father Sforza is a hunter, investigator, and an executioner - an almost romantic figure, with a legend behind him. A real professional, effective and dispassionate, who recognizes the danger of visceral reactions independent of the pleasure they can provide. He is one of those people who few will miss when he dies. Throughout his career, Sforza has forged a fearsome reputation, retrieving an extraordinary quantity of bounties, hunting both men and Rogue A.I.s equally. The mere mention of his name frightens outlaws and fugitives, but he is not really a cruel person. To put it simply, he, like a shark, cannot change his nature.

The miniature and hero cards will be included in the Revenant expansion.

We have been able to unlock the extra mission for Father Lucien Sforza. This mission will be available into Revenant Expansion.

And, we have one more surprise, with over 5,000 backers we have unlocked a new TESEUM GOAL.

Base your Megalodron with his latest victim.

And no, we don't forget Agnes, it was the last unlocking campaign!

Agnes is a non-player character (NPC), who appears in the first Infinity Defiance mission, and who has become an icon during the campaign thanks to the #prayforAgnes movement. Finally, we will have your miniature.

This miniature will be free for Pledges COLLECTOR'S, DELUXE and / or PLATINUM.

    WHAT WILL HAPPEN NOW?
Kickstarter will now charge you the total of your contribution with the selected payment method.

In January we will send you an email with access to the Pledge Manager. There you must confirm your pledge, add-ons, shipping address and pay shipping costs.

In the Pledge Manager, you will be able to increase your pledge level, acquire several pledges or add add-ons.

Of course, we will continue to update the campaign regularly with all the progress.

Once again, we want to thank you for all the support received. You are the best.

    THANK YOU!
