Last weekend I also worked on my goliaths. However, I am probably going to have to scrap it and start over. There is a bit of lore in the House of Chains book where a Goliath gang dyed their skin bright colors so that people would mistake them for xenos and surrender quicker. I wanted to replicate it, but I am not impressed with the results. So I will probably just hit them with another base coat and then do their skin normally.

I've played two games of Necromunda on it so far and it feels like a totally different game now.

More progress on my goliaths. Man I forgot how much I hated Edge highlighting. Also I have come to the conclusion that Kislev Flesh is a bad paint. As I painted all the skin in the same way, but only the ones that used Kislev came out looking weirdly stark.

I've never liked Kislev either, but you have some lovely models developing there.

Thanks. It's been a while since I put this much time into some models. Though I suppose it's also been a while since I assembly lined like this. I've mostly been slapping contrast paint on my Sigmar models. Not using layer paints and edge highlights.

So I only had 1 day off this past weekend and I sent it frantically trying to complete my Goliaths. I sort of succeeded. All I have left are some small details, the hair on the models that have it, and general Touch-ups on all the models. So hopefully I will be able to finish them this coming weekend. Then I don't know what I will work on, the sump croc probably, then maybe Rogue trader terrain that I keep forgetting I have? Start building something else? I'm not sure.

I FINALLY FINISHED THEM! The Goliaths are completed. Now I just gotta go ahead and finish up Fido. It's amazing how quickly contrast makes a model come together. No idea what I am doing after that. I've still got that Rogue Trader terrain I keep putting off, I also have Kal Jericho and Scabs, and Loonshrine primed up.

The number of different paints on this project far exceeded my last one. I may or may not have run out of space. lol.

Nice work on the Goliaths, it’s fun how your rust streaks down the side of the bases! That paint organisation system looks like mine about 2 weeks ago!

I was off work last week for my vacation time, thought I was going to get a ton of painting done. And then I really didn't get anything more than I would during a regular weekend done. But hey, it's still progress.

I finished Fido, and my Rogue Trader terrain (though the last couple doors need some cleanup). This week I'm hoping to finally prime my MDF terrain and possibly even get it painted. Depends on how easy it works out.

Wasn't in the paintingest of moods last weekend. So I just decided to spend the bulk of my time priming and spray painting my MDF terrain for necromunda, and then did the detail work on one of the pieces. Included at the end is the photo of my spray can graveyard that this terrain has left behind.

So had another vaction week from work where I couldn't go anywhere thanks to Covid. So I decided to buckle down and get some painting done. Lots of masking tape and hazard stripes this time around.

As long as I don't find any more pieces that need them I should be fine. lol. Now I have to paint all the bulkhead wall details next time I paint. Then I will dunk everything in a brown wash and call it done.

I have no idea what I am going to paint once I am finished. I'll just have to pick something out of the backlog at random I guess.

Went down to work on more of the terrain last weekend. Found that a housemate had taken it to the shop with him to play his games for the campaign. Worked on Kal Jericho and Scabs instead.

Last weekend I spent some more time working on my terrain. Painting in the details on the bulkheads. At this rate I should be finished with the terrain pretty soon, then I will just be waiting on my roommate to get his airbrush replaced so we can graffiti it up and get everything washed and sealed.

Well, I have finished the basic detail work on the terrain. At some point now I need to mix together a wash and give all this mdf a bath. Then graffiti and posters and it will be done.

So last weekend I finished off Jericho and Scabs and got started on my Loonshrine. My Gloomspite Gitz I started back during the launch of contrast paints. So I challenged myself to only ever paint this army using contrast paints. I forgot how much I love working with them. This thing painted up so quickly compared to the models I have been doing in the "classic" method recently.

Yeah, I was surprised. I didn't think something that large would take contrast well. Hopefully, I can finish it up this weekend. No idea what I am going to work on next. Probably some tau models I primed but never painted years ago. I'm hoping that by january I will have every model in my backlog be on sprue still and no built/primed models left. Maybe by 2022 I won't have a backlog at all. lol

Finished up the Loonshrine. Didn't get around to starting up my next project, however. Guess that will be this weekend.

So my first army was Tau and due to the way I joined the hobby, my Tau ended up being a mesh of ebay stuff that came painted a bunch of different ways and models I built and painted myself. This ended up splitting my paint scheme into two camps (With a few outliers that you will see later on in this project) the Purple camp which is all the models I built "to the meta" ie with the optimal loadouts and or magnetized weapons. and the Red Camp which is a lot of rescued farsight color scheme models and the models that were not built towards the meta/magnetized because I didn't know better.

This decision has always haunted me because I don't care for the way the two color schemes look together. So this is my attempt to try and harmonize the colors a bit as well as finish painting some models that didn't make it past the priming phase, magnetize some models that still can be, and just generally work through my tau backlog.

I started out easy, keeping the red armor on these infantry units but changing their fatigues from an awful splotchy white paint over to the same mechanicus standard grey I use on my purple models. I also started painting a piranha and a devilfish purple.

What’s the plan to harmonise the two colours? Will it be the secondary and tertiary colours of Grey and Green that they’ll share?

Yeah, that's how it is right now. They share grey fatigues and green markings. Then the vehicles and battlesuits instead of grey it's just black exposed mechanical bits.

Last weekend I got the base colors done on Tau models. Next time I sit down to paint I will need to hit everything washes, then I just gotta toss in my highlights and edge colors. These painted a lot faster than I thought they would. I've got some hammerheads I rescued from ebay that need to be stripped. and then I have a box full of kroot models and the Tidewall models that I need to salvage and repair before painting once I get this stuff done. Then I am going to have to try and save up for some more feldherr foam to actually store all these models so they don't get destroyed again. lol
