More Dakka on the Inside!
WAAAGH! After a bit of a break, I’ve been workin’ on the interior of da Gargant again, and it’s startin’ to look proppa Orky. Below are two photos: one gives you a general look at the front interior (now with some Orks and Grots in place), and the other includes some numbers to help explain what’s what.
Let’s go through da important bitz:
1) Chainsaw Arm Control Station – This is where a big mean Ork takes charge of the saw arm. Gotta keep someone tough here, ‘cause that thing’s noisy, dangerous, and waaay too fun to use.
2) Gun Arm Control Station – Operated by a dedicated Ork gunner, this is where the dakka happens. Notice the big red button on the ceiling? Yeah… that’s the “make it all go boom” button. You know every Ork wants to press it.
3) Ammo Storage for the Gun Arm – Most of the ammunition for the arm weapons is stored right where the number is placed. The red arrow shows the route the Grots have to take to carry ammo all the way to the arm guns. It’s a dangerous job (good thing Grots are expendable…). Along the way, there’s a rickety wooden drawbridge about halfway through. That bridge is there so the ammo lift system can be used — you can spot the hook where the lift gets mounted in the photo. The Grots climb through a hole in the hull, then follow an access path inside the arm (I’ll show that in a future update!).
4) Ammo and Powder Barrels for the Belly Gun – Gotta feed the big gun in the gut somehow! The yellow cylindrical objects are the barrels filled with black powder — essential for making the boom extra loud.
5) More Ammo for the Belly Gun – There’s extra stashed around (some is tricky to spot in the photos). After all, you can never have too much ammo. Fun fact: those round cannonballs are actually the perfect caliber for the belly gun — the Mek had some lucky finds this time!
6) Nuclear Bomb – Because, let’s be honest… a nuke always comes in handy.
