I was actually NOT thinking of Star Wars with the Mauser, I was thinking of an Gestapo looking IG Officer in great coat, aiming a mauser at hip-level, in that movie-cool kind of way. I thought I could make the Mauser look 40k by adding the tell-tale lasgun flash suppressor on the barrel.

A very toxic shine eh? And all just tricks of the light reflecting off that paint I placed inside the halves of the "crystal" before sealing it. Light hits, bounces off, and back out of the crystal and voila~! Nuclear toxic glow!

More like the Stargates like in SGU/ SG-1/Atlantis, long range, and basically carried on the Monolith and the Night-Scythe, Can';t wait till those come out, fast as DE transports for that last minute move to get close to the target, and next turn(provided the enemy didn't kill them) the troops come out to seize the objectives.
