Im making a chapter based off the ancient egyptians its called the warriors or Ra and the colour is bleached bone armour, merchite red shoulderpads and black trim the symbol is a scarab but i need ideas for the fluff so far ive got:

The warriors of Ra

The warriors of Ra are a 1st founding chapter and have been hidden in the sands of Solo'idla II (in the Solo'cla system)
they awoke when the system was falling to an Iron warriors attack (Their nemesis) The primarch's (Solo'cain) whereabouts are unknown but its said during the Horus Heresy he went on an expedition to the unknon reahes of space and hasn't returned... Yet. After the Horus Heresy the chapter went to the chapters planet in the Solo'cla system (Solo'idla) and built an underground fortress and for a mellenia they stayed in their fortress becoming less and less known, sending out scouts to receive new tech and news. They came from the sands in the millenium 40 when the system was first attacked by the iron warriors but they held them off but at the price of their greatest captain, Octavius of 5th company, who was quickly encased in a venerable deadnought.

And thats what ive got so far but i need suggestions

they awoke when the system was falling to a Thousand Sons attack (Their renagade brothers) The Chapter master's (Anubis) whereabouts are unknown but its said during the Horus Heresy he went on an expedition to the unknon reahes of space and hasn't returned... Yet. After the Horus Heresy the chapter went to the chapters planet in the Solo'cla system (Solo'idla) and built an underground fortress and for a mellenia they stayed in their fortress becoming less and less known, sending out scouts to receive new tech and news. They came from the sands in the millenium 40 when the system was first attacked by the iron warriors but they held them off but at the price of their greatest captain, Osiris of 5th company, who was quickly encased in a venerable deadnought.

I would stay away from doing a 1st founding chapter, just because that could cause you a lot of grief . Necron or thousand sons should be their nemesis. they fit the theme a little better.

I don't like the fact that they were Isolated but at the same time they sent out scouts for the new stuff.

and then this Octavius dude. . . his name isn't even Egyptian lol.


but otherwise I like it so far. I have always wanted to do a Chapter with a heavy Egyptian theme.

It could use a little reworking.

Yeah, as a basic law, you want to stay away from any of the GW named foundings, esspecially the first.

This link gives you a time line so you can line your chapter up to fight you chosen enemy, as well as giving you hints and tips on creating said chapter.

You could have them as a descendant of the Thousand Sons, or even from the remnants of the Sons that stayed loyal. I agree to keep them out of the 1st founding.

Also, how can their nemesis be the Iron Warriors when they've only been fighting them for 1000 years (or less)? If you're going to have a nemesis, it needs to be a result of millennia of warfare. If they end up being very psyker-centric, then the technological style of the Iron Warriors could be an anathema to them (or vice-versa), setting off battles since the Heresy as one force tries to obliterate the other.

I'd also agree to stay away from the first-founding. The captain's name could work if you're looking more at Roman-empire era Egypt (though then I'd think Anthony would be more appropriate...)

Definitely not a bad start, though.

A batch of Thousand Sons loyalist that did as the Emperor said and did away with Pyskers, after the Heresy they fled to a far far system and sealed themselves into an underground fortress to repent for their sins, and they are only just now starting to re emerge from their self inflicted isolation to redeem themselves in the cauldron of war against chaos.

seeing as during this time each legion had access to so many resources they fled with a large portion of the 1k sons fleet. so the crew of all the ships colonized the planet so they have access to new recruits.

Ok il change it to they were a breakaway from the thousand sons that stayed loyal and are tryinng to track down and kill their renagade brothers what about that? Get rid of the primarch and place chapter master Anubis there and Octavius will now be called... Osiris what about that?

Nothing? Have them all equiped with pre heresy gear, and now that they are having a greater prescence in the universe their slowly getting new gear.

If you're intent on keeping them isolated for so long, scrap the scouts idea. The other chapters would crap a brick if some chapter that never did anything was siphoning away new toys.

New gear can come in a way that again ties in to ancient Egypt: When a pharaoh was buried, his servants, advisers, etc. were often buried with him. Since your chapter went and buried itself to repent for their wayward brethren's sins, they could very well have had in their possession a number of the Adeptus Mechanicum. Through astropathic link, the sequestered martians could have received instructions on how to replicate the modern machines, and have them built for your chapter in exchange for something.

If they've only been in hiding for 1000 years what tech will they have missed? Technology doesn't exactly move fast in the 41st - Razorbacks are considered new and they've been around since M36.

The only thing they might be missing is the redeemer (couldn't find a date for that), everything else is good.

Do consider that they missed the introdution of the Tau and the Tyranids - might be story opportunity there.

Make them get lost somehow, marines that flee or go into hiding infers weakness or cowardice.

Not really, Marines closely resemble monks, who commonly take time away from everything for a period of self reflection.

Thats all their self imposed exile is. a time of self reflection to gather themselves. they did this after the horus heresy. EVERYONE was shell shocked after that. Lots of marines isolated themselves to reflect on events.

Ok ill have my sternguard veterans in pe heresy and the commander plus some veichles will . All the others will have new version armour
