We see a lot of people asking "what army they should collect?" A silly question in my opinion as it only takes a few clicks of the mouse to check out the armies and info. Plus everyone's opinion is different!
Here is a nice little web page I found. Shows all the mini's on one page at the time the page was made, some may be missing. Still, you really get the feel for the race you're looking at when they are all on one page!
NOTE: Links for each army are at the bottom of the page. For those who have seen it, click the back button! ... enjoy.

EDIT: If anyone knows of a similar site, please post.

I don't know if it's such a silly question, especially for a new player. Some armies are absolute dogs at the moment. Some are much more expensive to make than others. Some have goofy rules or a dramatically different playstyle from a "typical" army. I know that I had a really tough time figuring the armies out when I started.
Now, asking what's the SECOND army you should collect is a bit silly.

I'm not like them, but I can pretend.

I am just getting back into the game after a long absence, and I *could* just dust off one of the old armies, or finish off the abortive attempt to get back into the game from a few years back, but where is the fun in that?
So I spent a morning in my FLGS going through codices and looking at models. I narrowed it down to a few choices. I asked some questions on the forums I regularly frequent. I talked to my friends.
I chose Eldar. This will be the fourth Eldar army I have done. Crazy, huh?

I've been playing Warhammer 40,000 since 1988, and am just coming back from a bit of a 10-year hiatus. And please excuse any wild accusations, hallucinations, or outright factual errors, as I am recovering from a serious head injury. And Warhammer 40,000 is part of my therapy. OH YEAH! |

I love that site because it's so Web 1.0. Also it's got a lot of dated information from late 3rd/early 4th ed. It's pretty okay for illustrative purposes, but I think the GW site may be better, if harder to navigate.
