melbourne

hi, i was wondering how many people in the general melbourne area are looking for a weekend place to play games? everything from 40k/fantasy to warmahordes, malifaux, dnd, magic the gathering, if you name it it's on the list basicly.
specifically the place would be in melton, for those that don't know it's about a 15-20 minute train ride from the city and 15-20 from baccus marsh.
and how many would be willing to pay a small amount for it? thinking $10 to join up, then $10 per weekend to come play, $5 to spectate, when you sign up the first week of play is free, if you spectate it's the first 2 weeks, if you spectate one week then play the next the second is 5, you get the point.
i'm considering renting a place to host a weekly weekend club for all this stuff, opening friday mornings and closing about midnight, then opening again on satday and staying opened all night untill sunday night about 10pm, basic things will be provided, like water, bring your own drinks or there will be limited variety of things provided, cheap 1ltr bottles of cola for $1 same with lemonade etc. will do a nightly run to a fast food place to be chosen, you pay for your food, but we pay for delivery etc.
first aid kits are on site, so if you are modeling and slip we have it covered.
other various things that other places have strict rules for that will not be here.
swearing: swearing is fine as long as people can keep it reasonable, if everyone arounds in there 20's that's fine, if everyones mates even better, if there are children within earshot then it's definately not. but as i said, reasonable, just because a child is on the property doesnt mean your going to get in trouble for it, just as long as they arent around when you do it.
fighting: not happening, i understand mates occasionally joke around tryin to get people to flinch, that's kool, but not near other peoples stuff, or your own please. but the second someone get's hurt or ends up on the ground then this rule may have to be changed, though i trust everyone is intelligent enough to know what's a joke and what's going to get someone hurt.
smoking and drinking: smoking is fine just not in the doorway or inside, drinking is not. if you are drunk when you show up you will be asked to leave, but again we're reasonable, if your just popping in to get your boyfriend/girlfriend/kids/whatever and have been shopping it's ok, but you will be asked to wait outside for them after you've let them know your there. (i mention this because i've seen a few fights break out when this exact scenario happened, only the owners wouldn't let someone in to let there /relationship/ know they were there.)
normal laws do apply of course, so any complaints of harrassment or violence or anything you will be asked to leave or have the police called depending on what happened.
be however loud you want within reason, there's no need to shout at eachother across a table, but no, you will not be asked to leave cause your conversation was audible 5 feet away.
any weapons of any sort will have the police called, and that includes threatening someone with modeling tools and the such. though again, we can tell the difference between someone boasting of how they could totally fight off an army with nothing but there scalpel.
as for property, everyone who enters will be asked to sign a form agreeing to the various conditions and the usual, but there will also be a section detailed specifically to this: if any person should damage anothers property they may be asked to re-imburse them at full cost of said property. plus a small fee for the trouble of having to go out of there way to buy a new one, painting, sentimental value etc. this is of course entirely up to the owner of the property but we will have the information required should someone refuse to pay. so no starting fights over it.
if a child is asked to leave and there parents aren't there they will be called and asked to pick them up, if for some reason they can't we can take your child home but we will charge you for having to do so.
if a child breaks something they will most likely be aloud to stay but the parents will be asked to reimburse the owner, if the owner has left we can hold onto it, or call you and go from there.
there will be music on the premise, but not to loud, and not 24/7, only at the request of the gamers, it will either be a radio station or various rock/soft rock, we understand not everyone likes rock or might prefer something else (personally i'd like power metal) but rock is the most widely liked genre amongst gamers and is certainly less invasive than death metal or rap to those that disslike it. but this shouldn't be an issue as it would only be background noise anyway.
as for the all night saturdays there will be a darkened section for sleeping and music will not be all night, after midnight people will be asked to keep it a little more quiet but there will always be noise as long as people are playing tabletop games unfortunately.

we will host tournaments once a month for either warhammer40k or fantasy and alternate them. during tournaments spectators will be aloud in for free but only for them days. we will also hold warmahordes and magic tourneys, and other smaller games once a month every month, there will be a small charge (only about $5) to enter, first second and third place will get a prize provided there is a reasonable amount of entrants. we will play games by the book(s) and if there is a disspute one of us will find it in the rulebook and declare how it is to be played, if for whatever reason we can't give you a strait answer on what a rule means we will find a middleground that both players can be happy with. we will also host other random comps throughout the year, painting, kitbash/modeling, other things people can think of we can add.
once a year towards the end of it we will host an end of year tourney for all games we've been running tourneys for, it will be an all weekend afair with larger than normal prizes and a trophy.

i think that about covers it, an absolute wall of text to be sure, but i hope you guys will take the time to read it and like it. i'd like to be able to do this and provide a nice place where everyone can come and enjoy themselves once a week for a minimal charge just to cover the cost of the rental.
