yeah, the tickets went on sale around 10;00 and they were gone before 11;30...
... ah well, couldn't really afford it this year anyway.

Must be nice living in a country where , no matter where you live, it is only a 5 hour drive to Nottingham.

isn't that the series that people were complaining about having too much comp/painting/"leveling" of armies onto the same playing field? if so, i guess all that anti-*anything not battle points* moaning on dakka really is a just a vocal minority.

Majority of the moaning was probably US-based, and generated off irritation at it being used for the Vegas "National Finals" for the Indy GT circuit. It's such an odd points level and format that using it as a "finals" for a circuit primarily comprised of 1750-2000 point "typical" battle point or other formats (but no formats like the TOS) that there were a lot of folks kinda perplexed, to say the least.
TOS has been going on in Britain for a while, and this year to my understanding there's no quals process, so you're either in or you're not.

I think that was ToS in the US, not the UK ToS - the UK definitely has no comp or odd scoring involved.
And yes, no qualification this year - probably a reaction to needing to pay for 2 hotel stays.

That packet they released that's for the UK and US is weird scoring. But that's because it's so different from every other format over here. That was most of the complaining. Not that it's not entirely BP based Warboss. In fact a lot of the guys I know that have tickets are going even with the screwy scoring format (for us) including myself.

The GT was renamed Throne of Skulls last year, but retained the earlier format (WLD scores only, 3-1-0 scoring, 3 heats 1 final). It's changed to the new system this autumn.
I am not attending.
