I've used my search-fu to no avail. I've never been happy with the look of most methods of painting fresh and dried blood on miniatures. Does anyone in the Hive Mind here have a dependable and good-looking recipe for fresh and/or dried blood?

Hot glue can be used and stretched to give a fresh, oozing, bleeding look. here is a link to someone i suggested the same thing to and how it came out.

I wonder if cutting myself and mixing my blood with varnish would work. Probably, I assume.

After the orbital strikes, Thunderhawk bombardments, Whirlwinds, Vindicators, fusion and starfire and finally Battle Brothers with flamers had finished cleansing the world of all the enemies of Man, we built a monastery in the center of the largest, most radioactive impact crater. We named the planet "Tranquility", for it was very quiet now.

Tamiya Clear Red is the best way to go...

Put some on a ceramic plate, add tiny bit of way watered down chaos black, and let it sit....the top layer will form a skin and when you pint it on it will look like the blood is coagulated.....

hit me up if you need more help

For red/still fresh blood, tamiya clear red is great.

For coagulated/old blood, 2 parts tamiya clear red to one part tamiya smoke (IIRC, fairly certain that was the suggested ratio) is unbelievable

I want to echo the recommendation for Tamiya Clear Red.

Here's a nice tutorial with pictures of the results.
