Deploy - A Demon Prince of Tzeentch and Rhino full of
CSM line up at the half board mark.
- Wave Serpent hides on field half covered by a ruined building
Turn 1:
- Demon Prince flies forward and launches a bolt of change, but fails to penetrate the haul.
-
CSM rhino driver attempts to baja over a chunk of ruins, but gets caught on a boulder.
CSM get out and curse at the driver as they run forward.
- With a gentle glide the wave serpent shifts to the east and fires into the darkness, failing to hit anything.
- A wraithlord construct emerges from the fog of war and begins sprinting toward the Demon Prince.
- Two Fire Prisms move in to escort the wave serpent. One fires, but can't get a solid lock on the demon prince while the other Prism's beam is shrugged off by the Prince.
Turn 2:
- Appearing out of thin air an obliterator seems surprised as his destination shifted an landed on top of a giant rock... long way down. It takes aim at the Wave Serpent, but fails miserably.
- The Demon Prince, seeing the massive sword of the Wraithlord, swoops to the west hoping to catch the Fire Prisms in the near future. He prepares a Bolt of Change, but suddenly suffers a wound from Eldrina's runes of Warding.
- Still pissed about their ride, the
CSM squad moves deeper into the ruins.
- A rhino full of
CSM appear to the far north parking behind their objective.
- Eldrina's transport glides to the east and fires at the obliterator perched on the rock, but fails to hit.
- In a beautiful unison both Fire Prisms hover to the west and lock onto the immobilized rhino. The gunnery station is destroyed and the crew is very shaken.
- With the Demon Prince out of range the Wraithlord turns his sights to the nearby ruins. Stretching out his arms dual flamers ignite the very air, but the
CSM survive the inferno. The Wraithlord then attempts a charge, but finds the terrain too difficult.
Turn 3:
- Two obliterators suddenly appear between the wave serpent and prisms. One targets a fire prism with it's multi-melta and ignites the engine compartment detonating the plasma cores. The other obliterator.. fails.
- A beam of light fires from on top of the northern rock and terrifies the Wave Serpent crew shaking them.
- The Demon Prince attempts to fire a bolt once again, but once again suffers at the hand of Eldrina and takes a wound.
- The
CSM in the ruins move deeper to the east and fire a melta at the wraithlord, but unfortunately hit a piece of rock.
- Eldrina and the Dire Avengers disembark as Eldrina manipulates the battlefield.
- The lone Prism to the West glides further away from the battle launching a beam into the deamon prince tallying up another wound.
- With the serpent moving to shield them from the obliterator to the north the Dire Avengers fire a fearsome volley into the Demon Prince and with the help of Eldrina's doom bring the beast crashing to the ground.
- Sensing Eldrina's will, the Wraithlord turns back to the main fight launching it's flamers into the obliterators, then charging headlong into the closest one, rending it in two. With the beast dead he heads back to deal with the
CSM.
- Eldrina is assured the future's path is clear and she dives headlong into melee with the other obliterator.
Turn 4:
- Seeing the tides of battle shift, another rhino of
CSM appear to the northeast and drive full speed hoping to assist in the fray.
- The
CSM in the ruins decide it's time to strike and head for the object, but find the ruins very difficult to navigate.
- Eldrina and the Obliterator exchange blows with a wound struck on the oblit, but Eldrina dodging the clumsy swings.
- The Wraithlord charges back to the
CSM unleashing his dual flamers once again and this time manages to incinerate two. Shocked by the sudden onslaught the
CSM head north fleeing.
- Noticing that time is of the essence the Fire Prism speeds north.
- The Dire Avengers pile back into the the Wave Serpent sharing stories of their kill shots.
- Eldrina strikes a final blow on the festering monstrosity and begins to head north.
Turn 5:
- The
CSM fleeing regain their composure and head south again toward their objective as they run to make up for lost time.
- Racing at full speed the Northwest rhino continues to tear ground south.
- Shocked by the approach of the Fire Prism the northern rhino
CSM cut their tea break short and hop out of the rhino. The
CSM move into the ruins while the rhino pulls around the outside.
- The obliterate finally manages to make it off the rock as he fires a volley into the Serpent.... but only manages to shake the crew.
- The Rhino crew to the South East still fumble with trying to repair their treads, but continue to fail as they have all battle.
- Eldrina moves forward locking eyes with the obliterator and suddenly begins a war with it's mind. She finds that the beast's mind is harder to overcome then she had previously thought.
- Pushing the engines to full speed the Fire Prism makes it to the enemy objective at the last minute, disrupting their plans.
- Safely buckled, as the Serpent waits, the
DA tell the crew to punch it as the serpent zooms over the the South East objective.
- The Wraithlord edges closer to the
CSM igniting another and with a swift slash lops the other two
CSM in halves. He then positions to block the speeding rhino.
Sensing their defeat the
CSM retreat and Eldrina continues home to Craftworld Uaire-Nem... (to continue roll of 1, game end)
Afterthoughts:
Bad moves and failed shots by the
CSM we capitalized on by the Eldar turning minor mistakes into gaping holes. Terribly fun game for both players though
