I've been noticing that sometimes the text in messages will go off the side of the screen, and there is a bar on the bottom where I would have to scroll to the right to see the last word or two in each line, which is just kind of annoying. I finally happened to notice what I think it causing it, and that would be a really long user Screen Name pushing the text block over. User in question being IHEARTLARGEBLASTTEMPLATES.

YO DAKKA DAKKA!

25 characters is the username length cap... unfortunately they're all caps too. Probably can't do much about it without widening the column.

Your debugging is correct. It is part of the image resizing code that rescales large images to fit the browser. Part of that requires the left hand column to be fixed width, and unfortunately large usernames stretch it and therefore push the rest of the page out of the window and cause scrollbars to appear.

It has been on my radar for a while and I'll think up an elegant solution at some point, but due to it not being too annoying and not happening too much, I've not dealt with it yet.

What about making long user names wrap around in the column? If that's possible.

I've seen this happening too, would you be able to default a smaller 'text size' for the site (like when you go into 'View' at the top and choose 'Text Size', you can set it to Largest, Larger, Medium, Smaller or Smallest on IE)? Just a suggestion, as it keeps small font small, and large font large.
