So a buddy of mine has a largeish Chaos Daemons army, and is currently carrying it around in the boxes the sprues came in. This results in much damage....and makes me cry, lol. So I'm on a mission to find him a carrying case for this army. I was looking at battlefoam, but I wanted to be sure that their standard foams were good for Bloodletters and such. Obviously for the juggers and soul grinders and such, their specific trays would be fine, but what about the rest? Does the 60 Large model tray fit bloodletters, or should I be looking at cav slots? I e-mailed battlefoam and was told to just browse their foams. Is there a better company for foams for daemons?

Battlefoam is currently busy sueing all other foam companies, therefore the short ntice
GW itself makes carrying cases, Sabol seems to be popular for bigger armies ( http://www.saboldesigns.net/home.html ) , in Europe you have Feldherr ( http://www.shop.battlefield-berlin.de/index.php/katalog/nlayer/1527-1-feldherr.html ) as an alternative, personally I like Intersponge from Singapur ( http://www.shop.battlefield-berlin.de/index.php/katalog/showarticles/70120-1-intersponge.html ). Guess Sabol is the easiest alternative for USA.

Yep, they've decided that all those companies who have been doing the same thing for longer, are copying their idea.
Morons.
I'm in the market for a decent case for my new Lizardman army.
Battlefoam are off the shopping list.

Battlefoam issued a warning that their patent for their brand name of foam was coming through. Other companies cannot sell foam under that name... that's all. It wasn't even a C&D letter, let alone a notice to appear in court.

Son can you play me a memory? I'm not really sure how it goes... |

That doesn't even make sense. You can't patent a name.

I was under the impression the issue was due to another company selling foam which had been cut with a laser (which is what their patents in).

Modquisition on.
Guys you can discuss the merits of foam and cases including by company, but lets not drag this thread down with disucssions of what loser company is suing who. I don't care.

My only advice is to get twice as much case as you think you need. Armies have a tendency to grow...
|
Iron Warriors - 4000 points (non-inflated, full FOC)
Black Crusade - 1500 points (non-inflated, led by Abaddon)
Jenen Ironclads (traitor IG/ABG) - 4000 points (non-inflated) |

Battlefoam is a great product, if a bit pricy. Sabol Design's Army Transport is also quite good and much cheaper.

Yeah, I'm just not sure which product of Sabols is the best for the bloodletters. They're 2.5" tall with their swords, so too tall for the precut, and I'm not sure how many would fit in the 2.5" pluckfoam. I guess we'll just see.

Sabol is where it's at. PR moves aside, Battlefoam does have a quality product, but you pay out the nose for it. I've been using Sabol for my Orks and Guard and it works well. You can always lie models down too if they're too tall for the foam or whatever.

I've had both BF & Sabol carrying cases , have since given my Sabol transports w/ foam to my brother & friends.
Battlefoam works for me, you pay much more for the cases
& foam trays . However i feel that you have much time & money put into your army why wouldn't you spend that extra dollar or two to get yourself something you will be happy w/ for years to come.
This is not jab @ Sabol at all , I believe that they make a quality product .As stated before I've had there transports for years before switching over to BF.
In the long run the decision is yours & yours alone to make. Both Sabol & Battlefoam have the pluck style foam trays.
Find which will work for you & run with it.

Definitely battlefoam if you can afford it. You get a good quality product.
