Subject: Substantial Earthquake in Christchurch, New Zealand
I'm hearing all sorts of scales, between 7 and 7.6. Not sure who to trust as it's such a new story. Yeah, no one dead but some injuries. They're lucky it wasn't an 8. Makes me a little uneasy though, as I'm in Wellington, directly on top of a major tectonic fault. If that one goes off, there'll be deaths, and both roads will be wiped out. (that's right, there's only two roads and a train line into the capital city of my country )

Australia (Recently ravaged by the Hive Fleet Ginger Overlord)
That's a good thing. One of the Primary reasons Canberra was selected as the Capital of Oz was due to the fact that it only had three points of entry, hence easily defensible. Good to hear that Wellington has the same deal. You never know, someday you might need it.

It's good if we ever get invaded (unlikely) but bad if we get hit by a massive earthquake (inevitable) as no assistance would be able to get in for two weeks.
OT, they're evacuating the city of Christchurch now apparently.

My aunt and her family live there, and we got a call from my other aunt this morning to tell us they're alright.
It was 7.4, apparently. We don't know if their house was damaged or if any of them are injured.
People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

Seriously though, I'm glad there were no deaths and can only hope that when my country finally gets a government again we render as much assistance as you guys need!
