I'd like some information for some work I'm doing for a future mechanised SoB army. How do Repressors compare to Rhinos and Immolators? Are there any units that work better riding in one of the other vehicles, or should I just make a bunch of Repressors and call it a day?

Well, unless you are just playing friendly games/apoc, Repressors are not an option.

That being said, Repressors give you a bit more punch than a rhino. If you want a big squad (7-10) and to still be able to flame someone with the vehicle, than Repressors are the way to go.

Small squads (<=6) are better off in Immos.

Since a standard SoB squad can only be fielded in sizes 10-20, a Repressor is a great choice to put your standard SoB sqauds in. The Heavy Flamers is great and allow you to bring more Melta on standard SoB without sacrificing too much on templates.

Immo's are best for Celestian squads with 2x Melta for a cheap tank hunting squad with some anti Infantry kick.

Rhinos are really strictly worse than both IMO for the points they cost w/o smoke or armor. Maybe at 18 points cheaper they become more reasonable but at the current cost I would always rather have the firepower of a repressor.

Thanks, guys. How about Dominions or Retributors? Are they better in small squads with Immolators or large squads with Repressors (or on foot for Retributors)?

Calypso: when you talk about the current cost of Rhinos, do you mean 35 points as in the IA2 update or 50 points as in the codex?

I was speaking to the codex cost, I have no problem running Repressors at cost, but given the actual army book states the cost of a Rhino I have trouble really getting myself to use the IA2 cost.

I like to use Dominions as a 4x Flamer squad, so I like them in Repressors myself so they can Divine Guidance effectively- I don't really run them with more than 1 Melta usually - I think their real utility is in maxing out those 4 special weapons.

I do not use Retributors anymore, but I imagine a medium sized squad (7 with VSS?) in a Repressor would be best since you can fire all 4 Heavy Weapons out of it when you are sitting statically. When I did run them I used 4x Heavy Bolter, but I find Hordes are not so much of a problem anymore and I end up taking 3x Exorcist to beat Mech Guard.
