For some reason people feel that it is necessary to post idiotic pictures and say things like "I hope you die" to spam bots. Thus the bot knows to create more bogus accounts and post more crap since the first one generated responses.... Example 4bag.com or whatever keeps popping up....


So can you add a feature that checks the report submissions for the word "Spam" and automatically stops people from posting on spammers threads, until it has been checked / deleted by a admin. Or at least have all the admins send informative msgs to any of the fools that respond to obvious spammers.

What they should do is list the common spammers and list them as spammers everytime they make a post that'll teach them.

I would think that if 5 different users report it as spam, then there should be a temp lock imo.

I agree with your idea that sounds good

Just use the mod alert button, as soon as we see spam it gets deleted and the spammer banned and IP blocked.

Not to mention any sort of user based moderation will be abused to high heaven. -cough cough-

I think anyone that reports non-spam as spam should get a temporary ban, that should curb abuse.

Gwar! is right, any user based moderation on sites I've gone to in the past has been circumvented for melicious purposes in the past and led to either the downfall of the site or total anarchy. The current system keeps Spam down to the point that I easily see less then one ad on this site a day. Lego is doing a great job there's no need fix what isn't broken.
