This is the history of my Chaos Army, I'm new to the hobby so hopefully everything kind of fits in with what's canon sort of, or at least is plausible. But here's the back history... let me know what you guys think.

The Hand of Chaos
“Blood, alone turns the wheels of history”

The Hand of Chaos was birthed from the warped womb of the World Eaters. With a history inked in blood directly tied to the Horus Hersey and dedicated to the dark god Khorne. An entire company of World Eaters riding upon the battle barge known as the “Genocide Junkie” were lost for a number of years in a warp storm. Upon coming out of the warp hell bent on causing havoc and destruction the company of World Eaters in the name of Khorne decided they needed to make a name for themselves in homage to their dark god.

The remnant of the World Eaters chapter rechristened itself, “The Hand of Chaos”. With pure blind rage and adrenaline they're able to strike down upon whomever they please. Their armor sometimes bears a bloody skull, the mark of Khorne, or the Roman Numeral for Eight in honor of Khorne. They made a pact to swear eternal loyalty to the blood god.

With the ability to traverse the universe in the Genocide Junkie they embark on a merciless dark crusade leaving utter devastation in their path... They have committed themselves to pleasant wholesome family activities such as piracy and the occasional planetary genocide. Engaging in the whole sale slaughter of millions, they live and breathe war, competing in battle they collect skulls, ears, and fingers. When they're not killing millions on feudal and feral worlds for sport, they battle Space Marines and Orks. When there's no one left to kill for the moment then they hold gladiatorial tournaments to purge the weak from their ranks. Only the strong survive, because blood alone, turns the wheels of history. You see, history is written in blood, yours...or your enemy's.

HERE's the first known "battle"...

A Planet Unprepared
“Lessons not learned in blood are soon forgotten”

There was this planet, a feudal world located in the Calixis sector. It's name did not matter much and was lost long ago to Imperial bureaucracy. They were lost in a warp storm, and had disappeared. Such a thing happens from time to time so no one really gave it any attention.

The special thing about this world is they had made peace amongst themselves. They had once had a cruel tyrannical king but he died. His successor, his son had spent his entire life getting people to stop fighting each other. By mere luck a couple events happened that brought the masses closer. There was a Tyranid invasion that decimated thousands. For this opposing forces simply had to work together or the entire planet was doomed. There was also a small drop of Orks that came down long ago and the same thing had to be done. Eventually, the people set aside their differences and worked for the common good.

What was soon to follow they were not prepared at all for. You see, they had all but entirely laid down their arms. They weren't devoid of weapons, they just never really progressed past the beginning of the age of powder. The king believed they didn't need to. They were certain they could repel a Tyranid invasion again if they had to, or fight off some tribal Orks. In their mind and in their reality they were at peace.

It's not to say their men didn't have weapons, and villages certainly still had guards. It was usually to fight off animals or wild beasts. Blacksmiths made swords, gunsmiths made flintlocks. It was more for tradition than actual war. But conflicts between men were rare and had been for the centuries the entire planet was lost in a warp storm. Really there wasn't even a good rebellion within the last couple hundred years to prove to the King his armies needed to stay trained and fit. They had no idea how wrong they were...

The Hand of Chaos Strikes
“There is no time for peace, there is only war, only chaos.”

Something else came out of the very same warp storm some feudal planet did. A relic from past wars... hovering through space came a battle barge that had been rechristened the Genocide Junkie. The men aboard were insane raging psychotics hellbent on slaying something. They hadn't killed in a good long while and were anxious to collect some skulls. So they set out to lead an assault on the first planet they came upon. Even those who would cause it didn't expect the onslaught that was to follow.

As drop claws and drop pods fell from the sky, people below on a feudal world looked up in awe. They had known of the Imperium and space technology but hadn't experienced much of it first hand. The people of the unknown peaceful feudal world sent a greeting party. Words were not exchanged, the only sound in the air that came first at that pivotal moment was the crackle of a bolt pistol. The head of the greeting party had a five inch in diameter hole in his chest as he looked down and fell over. It had begun...

There were battles, the King's men were gripped with fear marching into battle. All they heard was insane maniacal laughter and the sounds of weapons be prepared. That was followed up with chants in the name of the blood god. Battles lasted minutes, often less than an hour leaving thousands dead with few if any casualties on the side of Chaos.

Those that know how it all played out are either in hiding, dead, or simply don't care. What followed was nearly the eradication of an entire planet. One group of Chaos set out for the fun of it and in a mere 3 months time had nearly exterminated every living human on an entire planet before there was any notice by the Imperium.
