So in about a month or two I have a 2,000 point match (or several) against a friend who uses High Elves. It's pretty competetive - but I only have:

24 Saurus /w Spears
24 Saurus /w Hand weapons

16 Skinks

10 Skink Skirmishers

6 chameleon Skinks

8 Cold One Riders

Saurus Oldblood/ Scar Vet

Skink Priest

1 Terradon

1 Slann Mage-Priest

I'm looking into getting:

3 Salamanders

20 Temple Guard

What else should I get in order to beat her?

I know for a fact she's sporting a few Spearmen that come with the Island of Blood (by the time we play, she'll have two sets of HE from that) as well as the Dragon Princes of Caledor and Silver Helms.

You have/plan on having a slann with guards, and salamanders, and camo skinks, seems like all the competitive bases are covered, get the saurus in two large blocks, maybe have some extra bodies if you can get models, skinks are better as skirmishers so run them that way, you may want to get some krox but seeing as you'd need at least 6 to be effective they may as well be an option left for later games, mixed units are met with mixed success no personal expirence so can't say much, cold ones are supposed to be nerfed but with a scar vet with nice gear they can really flankrape some pointy ears (avoid swordmasters at all costs tho) also a nice counter to dragon princes, the skink priest makes a nice backup mage hiding him in unit of skinkmishers can get you'r slann some good casting lanes due to fast movement. Other than that i can only suggest using lore of life.

Definitely run the Slann with Cupped Hands- ignoring or shifting a miscast is huge and can seriously hurt the HE player's magic. For disciplines Focus of Mystery & Focused Rumination are must haves in my book.

I'd also recommend Life, but I really don't have experience with other lores to back that up. Life gives you several really nice things though- Throne's 2+ vs. miscasts and buffing other spells is great, and with Flesh to Stone T8 Saurus Warriors are going to make things difficult for the HE.

I recently just added a unit of Kroxigor to my list, and they're really paying off. They tend to draw a lot of enemy fire, but they can take a lot of shots and keep marching. Using a 'Life-Slann' can keep them up and going until they get in close to krump stuff up. I'd also make sure to have at least one Skink Priest running around, mostly to add an extra dice to the pool now and then and keep the other guy honest. Make sure to take the Blood Statuette of Spite. That 25 point wonder has downed Teclis a couple times.

In short, you need Kroxigor lol

Salamanders, salamander, salamanders.

March, fire, skirmishers, mosters and handlers, they have every one of the best rules in the game. And they will kill anything not in dragon armour (or phoenix guard) on a 4+. 3 templates makes a hell of a mess of HE units.

I've only run life on my SMP and it has worked a treat, throw him a unit of 16 templeguard with the razor banner for a brilliant tarpit unit that will smash most HEs.
