Hey-lo!

Right, at the momment I play a 3k Black Templars army, am starting up some Warmachine and Hordes stuff and I wanted to get into fantasy!

I did my research, looked over models and the three armies I have narrowed my choices down to are, Tomb kings, Vampire Counts and Bretonnians.
Leaning more to the Tomb Kings or Bretonnians because they have access to Warmachines and im VERY fond of big stone flinging awesomeness!

I digress, the main thing I wanted to ask, was peoples general oppions of the armies, does anyone at your group excell with them? do you as a player of these armies enjoy them? what "difficulty" level would you say the army was?

Anyway, if anyone can help I will be greatly appreciative and will name my children after you when they come along!

Thank you please!

For the Tomb Kings I refer you to this one:

As for the Bretonnians I haven't played them since I started the hobby back in '01, so I can't really help you there. =p

I won't bother.

Brets are hardly the most taxing of armies. Take lots of Knights, load up on the Banners and Characters, charge the enemy. Win the game.

Tomb kings are coming up for re-release so I'd hold off on starting them at this stage.
Lots of new kits are coming.

After a Black Templar army, Bretonnians might be more of the same. But, that might be a selling point depending on your preferences.

yeah doesn't quite work that way anymore thanks to steadfast, striking at intiative and stepping up. and if brets weren't so taxing i'd have won a few more games, i've only had a few point and click gams and they were cause i flanked the main army silly dwarf castles. you now neeed support for the knights, you have strong magic which comes with magic resistance, trebuchets and archers to weaken the foe before you charge in and you will need either ranks of bowmen or men at arms to negate steadfast blocks.

i enjoy playing brets, i like the whole knights, peasants and medievil fantasy

i haven't played with or against the other two though, but i've seen vampire counts played and they look like a meat grinder

tyranids only want to give you a hug, it isn't their fault they are cursed with extremely sharp and pointy claws.

a Meat Grinder?

Gotta admit, i do love the idea of pounding the crap out of an enemy with long range attacks and strong magic, only to charge in with some beautifully painted knights to really stick the boot in
