So my 1500pt list with Hammernators have been working out ok, now I have decided to kick it up to 2k. This is my idea of a balanced 2k list. Got some long range but also some speedy and dangerous close range units. Any thoughts and ideas would be most welcome.

HQ:
Libby (NullZone+Avenger) - 100

Troops:
10xTacticals (ML+Flamer+Combi-Flamer) - 180
Razorback (Lasplas) - 75

10xTacticals (ML+Flamer) - 170

I would switch out LRR for a Crusader. Maybe switch out pread for buffing out the 3rd tac squad so you get access to more weapons but thats just becuase I really hate 5 man tac squads

Personally I agree that the LRC is better than the LRR but what would you drop in order to get the 10pts needed for a LRC? If I drop the combi flamer then I feel that Im running quite low on templates so not sure that I would like to do that. What Im thinking of doing now is to possibly have the Libby join the tactical squad with the flamer for a nice tri template action.

How would I get more weapons if I drop a Pred? I would loose an autocannon and 2 HBs in order to gain a flamer and a ML...

I would strongly recommend finding a way to complete that third tactical squad.

You could just not use the MM on the raider. Never see much use of that anyways

Dont for get though on the tac squad since I assume you're combat squadding, you get an extra unit to score and more guys who can hide in cover.

The MM on the raider is imo probably the best invested 10pts in this list. Yeah, I would get more scoring units and my KPs would remain the same or lower. But personally I think that 5 scoring units at 2k will be enough. I know that I will have to play it carefully but I think it can work.

Maybe I should simply drop the combi-flamer on the Tac squad. The LRC will do me mroe good than a single template.

The game changes alot at 2000 points, and a large, scoring troop base becomes very important. I dont really know how else to explain it, but its something you'll see when you start playing at 2000 points. At 2000 points, 30 marines is the minimum I will field, then I'll add my "toys" form there.

Duplication is key.

Good luck with the balanced list, most people I see play tend to go more specilized, it would be nice to see someone fielding something different.

I don't see the point of tyhe Liightening claw Terminator, just makes your hammernator squad weaker for no gain at all.

You need more melta in the tac squads rather than all flamer. I'd dump the Pred to help with the points here and possibly boost the final tac squad to 10 men.

Other than that seems OK. Pretty solid, good ranged AT, nearly has a deathstar. It is not going to surprise anyone or cause them significant promblems but it is a nice steady list that should grind out some good results and be able to capitalise on enemy mistakes.

I agree with FlingIt on the Termie issue. Not so sure about the Melta. If you do decide to drop the flamers for meltas then do it by droping the sponsons on the Pred. The pred can then easily be used as an anchor for one side of your advancing line. This will enable to negate all side armour shot on your Vindicators. However, I think that your list will have more of a problem vs horde than it will against mech so I would keep the flamers to start with.

Also, 25 marines is ok. a little on the risky side but still ok.
