Me and a friend have been discussing the Sisters, and when they made their 1st appearance. I couldn't find any reference to them on www.solegends.com and I believe the 1st codex came out in '97. Does anyone know if there were any models released which predate the codex? My friend thinks he's got some Sisters figures from the early 90s, but I'm sceptical they can be from so far back...

That's a pretty sneaky way to add some range to an exorcist. AFAIK you're supposed to mount the missiles on the back of the vehicle not the forward section.

Sisters came out first in Rogue Trader, though they had no rules, or to my memory models (there WERE female-in-power-armor models though). They were essentially the regulating agency of the Astartes.
Their first codex came out in second edition, probably near the end if memory serves, and their third edition codex came out about the same time as the Daemonhunters codex.

The codex was indeed from the end of 2nd edition. It was a bit of a flop because of it... At that point, rumours were already circulating about 3rd edition being imminent, and so people held off on buying a codex that was going to be rendered almost immediately useless.
Model-wise... I have some vague idea that they may have received a limited White Dwarf release with rules and a small number of models earlier on (as they did with Necrons initially, to test the waters) ... but that might just be dementia setting in.

Yes, in Rogue Trader there were no rules nor models for Sororitas (which according to my logic would mean, no Sororitas in Rogue Trader ).
The Sororitas Codex in 2nd edition came at the very end of the cyclus and was invalidated very soon by the 3rd edition. They got a few nice models though: The Infantry squad, the Seraphim, the canoness, a Mk 1 Immolator, a missionary and a confessor (plus rules for Fratres Militaris and a normal Rhino). That's it. Was massively updated in 3rd edition to the "current" range.
@insaniac: Necrons had a test release for sure with the old metal miniatures (and the very old plastic ones from the board game). I am not sure about Sororitas, only recall the release WD and the one with the fanatics/redemptionist rules.

There was a WD with Canoness Praxedes' rules.
It was hilariously unbalanced.

Is this the one ( towards the bottom of the page )
Attached is 2nd ed codex - Or not, on account of that being copyright infringement, and against Dakka's rules. Attachment removed by moderator.

No, it's a version adapted for third edition. Which was able to remove all psychic powers from a psyker upon wounding them. Including Synapse.

It's the new, improved Chaplain-bomb. Just drop Praxedes on the biggest, baddest 'nid you can find, and watch hilarity ensue.
