Hey guys, im working on a salamanders army and converted a wolf guard marine into a chapter master Ive made some rules for him too. Tu'Shan............................ 500 points Ws BS S T W I A LD SV 6 5 4 4 4 5 4 10 2+ Wargear: The Dragon's Maw, The Dragon's Teeth, The Armor of Magma Forge, Drakescale cloak, The Dragon's Malice. Special Rules: Independent character, furious charge, Through Fire We Are One, Impossible might and will, Hero Of Armageddon, Eternal warrior. The Dragon's Maw This counts as a master-crafted force weapon, invunerable saves may not be taken, against vehicals it gains an additional D6 when rolling for armor penetration because the force weapon itself is mounted on a power fist, it also gains +1 armor penetration for every turn Tu'Shan has fired The Dragon's Teeth as the plasma bursts super heat the blade. The Dragon's Teeth These count as two master crafted melta guns (fired at assault two), or one master crafted multi melta (movement restrictions still apply for heavy weapons), Tu'Shan does not suffer from the effects of gets hot unless fireing the multi melta. The Dragon's Malice This counts as a master crafted thunder hammer, It is swung at initiative 1 but Tu'Shan may still attack with the force weapon, The thunder hammer gets one attack and has the same armor penatration rules on vehicals as normal. Armor of the Magma Forge This counts as artificer armor, any attacks made by a template weapon upon Tu'shan are lowered strength wise by 2. Drake scale cloak This grants a 4+ invulnerable save ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Through Fire We Are One! While Tu'Shan is still alive, any unit in the army may not be pinned. Also every unit may use Tu'Shan's leadership if neccesary. Impossible Might and will Tu'Shan is not effected by initiative lowering rules for The Dragon's Maw, any unit Tu'Shan Assaults must take a moral test before the assault begins, after the assault If they retreat, the enemy runs 3D6 and Tu'Shan runs after them 2D6. Hero of Armageddon When fighting orks, every unit gains the prefered enemy special rule while Tu'Shan is still alive. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Retinue: Tu'Shan may take two honor guard squads and a command squad as a retinue.

I would advice you to give him eternal warrior, since he is for apocalypse he will just eat a destroyer hit and die on 4+
Also you should remove his psychic powers and force weapon...as far I as I know space marines do not have Psykers as chaptermasters, except for 2 chapters, Soul Drinkers, Blood Ravens and one legion, Thousand Sons
Also perhaps a twin-linked Meltagun / Multi-melta might work better for his Dragon's Theeth? Plasma is more of a Dark Angels thing afterall.
If you want him to have 2 close combat weapons maybe change so the force weapon is a Power Weapon that grants the wielder 1+ strength and a extra dice to armour penetration?
Also you should make a change in how his thunderhammer works, like don't let it benefit from the Dragon's Maw and instead allow him to make and automatic Thunderhammer attack that always hit for each 2 of his normal attacks that hit? Representing him getting his foe off balance, allowing him to strike them with his thunderhammer making them stagger back from the "fury of the forge".

Also...he really should have a WS of 6, like all other captains/chapter masters do I unless I'm misstaken?
And a BS of 5 and 4 Attacks.

As an Apoc only model, he isn't bad. I would make his stats closer to a Chapter Master though (WS 6, BS 5). Eternal Warrior wouldn't be bad.
Things I'd change with your current version:
"Dragon's Malice": He should not get to attack with both the Thunder Hammer and the Force Weapon, unless he is dividing his attacks between both weapons (ie - 2 with the Dragon's Maw and 2 with the Malice).
"Dragon's Teeth": Being TL is fine, but unless he's a Monstrous Creature, we won't get to fire both of the Plasmaguns. Making it a single TL Plasmagun should be fine. And if you allow him to avoid the "Gets Hot!" rule, then lower the Str of the Plasma Gun/Cannon to 6. Tau run a variation of Plasma weapons with similar stats too.
"Dragon's Maw": Does the weapon count as a Power Fist when attacking vehicles only? I think you should clarify on how it affects Infantry and Vehicles.
"Impossible Might & Will": If the "Dragon's Maw" is indeed a Power Fist, then this is an overpowering stat. Being a Force Weapon that disallows Invul Saves is by far powerful enough. Being Strength 8 and attacking at Initiative is over the top though. Also, the part about enemies retreating seems unnecessary. If Tu'shan is attached to a squad, consolidating 2d6 doesn't help because the squad itself can only consolidate 1d6 (unless he's conferring this ability to them as well). And what if the retreating unit is a Fast Attack unit? Do they retreat 4d6? I would recommend reworking this part.
Psychic Powers: Do the Powers replace his normal Shooting attacks, or does he get them in addition? Remember, that unless he's a Monstrous Creature, he will only get one shooting attack per turn. I think your intentions were to allow the latter, but you should clarify.

If you're paying 500+ points for this guy then giving him Eternal Warrior or an Invulnerable save would really help, otherwise one Lascannon shot and he's just a pile of ash on the floor.

Considering a normal chapter master has an inbuilt 4+ then the chapter master of a first founding chapter should really have a 4+ as well.

I removed the psyker ability becuse it was a little off hand, and im only allowing the thunder hammer one attack as a followthrough weapon on an enemy unit that survived the first attacks, He can have access to 2 honor guard squads and a command squad as a retinue, so that will add more survive-ability to him, and anounce him as a great leader with many close followers. The Melta guns can be fired like an assault 2 weapon, my bad.
