Hello I have a quick question about necrons. I have recently dusted off my necrons and started playing with them again but a question came up today that had me scratching my head. Someone told me that my monolith was not able to fire both weapons in my shooting phase. I thought this to be a little odd since in the codex the rule for the Power Matrix states that it may us it in one of the following ways each turn. The Flux Arc Projectors in the codes says it will fire D6 shots at every unit with a model within 12”.
I was looking for a little insight on the matter and thank you for your help.

I believe it has been FAQ'ed, but the particle whip is Ordanance, and if you fire Ordanance you may not fire any other weapons. So following RAW, you can only fire one or the other.
Use can still use the matrix to do other things, just not fire the whip.

As above.
Whil eyou have 2 weapons one of them is Ordnance, and firing Ordnance prohibits you from firing any other weapons (barring a special rule like Lumbering Behemoth or Super heavy tanks)
So you can pull Warriors through and fire the D6 shots weapon OR fire the Ordnance weapon.

Being able to use the Matrix does not automatically mean being able to fire the Particle Whip. As you pint out, there are two ways to use it. Your question is specifically addressed in the FAQ, as has been stated.

That's the pain about the DS. It may just be me, but I don't see the value in deep striking them. You ideally want them close to your necrons that have started the game on the table, in case you need to transport them to re-roll their WBB. That and you give yourself the option of firing the particle whip.
