Please suggest which one would be better in my 2000pt army

I like lysander better. He is a monster.

edit: Although really its not a binary issue. They both belong in differing styles of army, so asking for an answer devoid of context is next to useless.

Lysander....not even close

Pedro overall is better for the points you pay (Crimson fist chapter tactics is better then imperial fists) by letting you do some really cool things with sternguard, and giving you a 1+ attack bubble and orbital bombardment to boot.

Lysander has some nice perks if used right (bolster defenses and bolter drill) and is 1 on 1 one of the best CC chars out there. He will kill anything. He can bend mephiston over a barrel and make him scream like a girl and hes 50 points cheaper. Only needs to fear things like Ctan, ghaz, ect.

I assume that that is his model collection not his army since an army may not have 3HQ choices.

Neither, he has no other Terminators or assault units and no Sternguard. Hence I don't think either would really fit, but I guess Pedro if I had to choose one...

Pretty old thread, still I can give my opinion. I'm going to try them both in 1750pts. Something like 70/30 shooty/counter-assault list. Here is what I'm playing and why:

Kantor
Lysander

Command squad with storm bolters, SS and power fist. I deploy them into razorback (HB) with Pedro Kantor. So, I have assault 14 * S4 (+Razor HB) unit with feel no pain, 6 -power fist attacks, 12 S4 attacks and 2* (3++ and 4++) inv. save. Imo, SB price 3pts per model, is a bargain.

Lysander is attached to Sternguard unit of 8, models armed with 2 combi-melta, 2 Heavy Bolters and power fist. With rerollable bolters, this unit is really devastating against some type of units. Only weakness is 2+ save. When assaulting enemy gets close enough, I push Lysander into CC and shoot the crap out of enemy with my bolters (ag. 2+ saves, I need to pop those meltas). Have not tried, but drop pod might be nice for these brothers? One choice is to play Lysander with storm bolter terminators? Anyone tried?

2 (*5 models) other Sternguard squads are armed with plasma cannons (2) and 1 combi-melta. These units are deployed into terrain (most of times) and Lysander can boost their cover to get 3++ inv. save against shooting. Transport razor with lascannon.

1 tactical squad with melta, lascannon, fist and razorback.

1 scout squad of 5, with snipers, missile launcher and camo cloaks. Tactical piece, to infiltrate or back my home objective with 2++ cover save.

1 predator with side lascannons and autocannon, to provide some lascannons and anti-AV12 weaponry.

Soo-oo, I have 40 models and 5 vehicles (2* HB razor, 2* Lasc razor and predator).

Like it? Those characters are pretty expensive and there is lots of small changes to make. Still I think that my weaponry is balanced against most of 40k armies and list is capable of taking in some assaulting units. Some players think that more wounds would be good, or I don't have enough tanks. I need some opinions, because I have played only couple of test games with my list!

Otherwise I would've recommended asking on the Army Lists or tactics forum for advice, rather than a bit of thread-necro...

Nonetheless, Lysander does go best with terminators of any kind and imagine, for example, Pedro's +1 attack bubble combining with them. I would recommend a pod for Lysanders squad, however, for 1750pts I feel you're spending too many points on goodies as only 5 vehicles at this level could be a vulnerability IMHO. You seem to know what you're doing with your list, so that's a huge plus, however I don't think it's focussed enough to win any medals IMHO...

Fluffwise, Kantor but gameplay-wise, Lysander by miles. He can just walk towards something then absolutely annihilate it.

=) Shrike, maybe I didn't write it clear enough. I have command squad (115), 5*SB(+15), Power fist(+25), SS(+15) and Razorback. Kantor is attached into that squad. So, I have a squad of 6 models, razorback, all carrying assault weapons (total of 14 dices to 24" after move of 6-12"). Feel no pain, storm shield and iron halo, to take shots and in cc, 2*power fist with 3 attacks. Rest of the squad hits 3*4 normal cc attacks. Clear? Only 170pts + Kantor (175) and Transport (+40).

It is highly effective unit in shooting army. I get lots of dices in shooting phase, can move and shoot, unlike most of shooting marine squads and painfull CC squad. Kantors aura of +1A can be taken in full use, by deployment. I wield Lysander with 8 sternguards in middle, next to them, there is Kantor another HB razorback with 1/2 tactical squad, with power fist (3A) to push forward if enemy reaches my line. Pretty much pain combined to devastating anti-inflantry fire. Worst nightmare is more vehicles and more firepower, because then I need to adjust and take more offensive tactic.

But, yes... I play too elitish lists and spam is spirit of this edition. One pod would also be nice. Don't know. More games, less speculation

Btw, why do you play Lysander with 10 SS terminators? Isn't that overkill? Just a thought?? It just don't make sense.

that's kinda the point. I'm being a hypocrit.
I also run too elite armies. I have a unit worth over 4,000pts.

Then backing them up is 10 TH/SS termies, lysander, a termie chaplain, a termie libby and a GK grand master...
