Ok, so I'm looking to start playing Necromunda again after a hiatus of... 13 years?

Man, I feel old.

Anyway, I've noticed that it looks quite difficult to get the starter boxed set as it's no longer in print. However, GW sells the 'Necromunda: Underhive' book.

Is it worth getting? What else will I need to play? I'm assuming that I'll need terrain, which is a shame as the stuff you got in the box was really handy to just crack on and get playing straight out of the box.

Also, I'll need gangs. Which is fine, of course. How easy is it to get the minis you need to expand your gangs these days? Is it difficult to get specific heavies, for example?

Hope you chaps can help!

p.s. I've started a thread in the swapshop, but I might as well mention it here - if anyone has any necromunda stuff to sell (especially the starter box or starter terrain), I'd be very keen to take a look at it.

I almost always agree with Albatross, I can't see why anyone wouldn't.

I wouldn't buy the book when you can download it from their site for free.
The miniatures can still be bought from GW. They're listed on their site still.

Is it the same as the one for sale? That seems... counterproductive.

The only difference might be a bit of art and some pics of minis.

All the rules are free on the site. The actual book might have a bit on painting maybe. IDK, i didn't buy it as I only wanted the rules as I know how to paint.

Yeah, I've got the book and all the download is missing is some pics and some of the fluff sections. Otherwise I've got a squad of enforcers and I used IG catachans to make my Orlock and Goliath gangs. Cheaper, look just as cool (cooler in some cases imho) and all plastic, which is a big plus for me.

The Orlock and Goliaths on the GW site are multi part plastic. But yes your way is cheaper.
