Yes Dark Eldar. Not jumping on any band wagon etc. First 40k army that I actually properly liked. They also got me back into the game when they came out in 3rd edition.

So far I have acquired a few of the new models namely the metal archon, few raiders, box of wyches, incubi and warriors. Up first is the Archon who wont feature in my main force as I need to get another one,

After the lord there will be my raiders. Unfortunately I have ran out of spray so can`t get more done but it will be back up and running soon enough.


Ok I closed the previous poll for the lave vs metallic scheme as lava was the way to go. On the other hand I did put up a new poll. For my incubi as there not specific to the kabal just the archon do I stick them with the lava affect armour or do I do them a totally different colour to bring them out more?

Very cool! Really like the dark reds. Great basing scheme as well.

Very slow horrible progress. The raider of doom is upon ye. This raider here first snapped clean off the flying stand followed by then having the stick thing break as well thus mounted on scenic base.

As you can see the sail and little banner have no markings as of yet. I was not sure what symbol will be used thus they are currently blank for now anyway.

Though having painted the raider and the archon. I`m not sure the scheme is really what I want. I`m thinking of starting anew with a metallic scheme. Thoughts? Oh and if I do go ahead with said metallic theme does anyone know where I can pick up some silver acrylic spray paint from within the UK?

Gah. Close up pics make it look rather messy. Think when the full army is done i`ll be going back over bits that need fixing should I stick with the lava scheme anyway to make it a bit more presentable.

I have another 2 raiders built and undercoated. I have 2 boxes of Kabalite warriors, 1 box of wyches and 1 box of incubi still to paint so far anyway. What to do next.....

Thatas a very distinctive color scheme. I like it better than alot of the DE schemes I've seen.

I like the scheme, looks very molten/volcanic/dark sun.

Thanks for the comments guys. I have now added a poll to see if I should stick with thus scheme or not.

As I am tempted by a metallic theme but am also pleased with the scheme as it is currently.

I voted for the Molten without even seeing the Metallic scheme. I would say leave the cold metallic themes for the Necrons, Dark Eldar blood runs hot!

I'm actually not sold on the purple details, but I like the rest.

To give a fair judgement, I'd have to see an example of your metallic scheme. You have quite a unique scheme now though. If you would choose metallics, then you'd have to compete with Necrons and some Marine Chapters.

Well, that color scheme certainly looks awesome. If your going to do a metallic one, I don't recommend re-painting those unless you're a diehard for unification. I'd love to see what you do with a metallic one. While I don't have pics atm, a while back I painted some with a silver and silver-blue/red/green/purple color scheme, and really loved the way it looked. What you have there is definately not something that I've seen before, and it seems to be well in sticking to the theme of the army as a whole, so more power to you.

For the sail and the flag an area those sizes. Could it work though? It is a better idea than the purple but i`m not sure it would come across on the sails.. Originally I was thinking flayed skin but wasn`t sure how it would come across

I`d certainly not be repainting it. I would just replace it. My metallic warrior test is under way so hopefully when he is done ill get a picture up with the idea.

I quite like the raider. Its very bold. I think the sail and flag would look better in a different color though. More Gray/Whiteish maybe?

Yeah i`m thinking of changing it. Grey may work. Currently thinking of flayed flesh tone for it myself though not sure how it would look as of yet as the small flag being skin i`m not sure would go

Added a new poll after deciding to stick with my lava theme.

Would also be interested to hear your views on the colour I should do my weapons on my warriors. Metallic, bone or something else?

Will hopefully have pics up soon of some wip of my next raider`s. If anyone is interested I will do a step by step?

i voted for lavascheme as i haven´t seen so many armies with that kind of inverted look. also i do like lava a lot bso i would love to see a full force done that way...

I went shopping today. 2 ravagers, 2 boxes of hellions and 2 boxes of reavers.

There will be pics later hopefully of all that I have in box. Basically I have my 1,500pts army bar a new archon but i`ll get him another day.

Next week is my birthday and I have Sonic Syndicate to see! so progress may falter next week but rest assured only painting maybe affected as building will be commencing.

Sorry for the double post but pics of all that is new in its box. As you can see:
2 kabalite warrior boxes
1 box of wyches
2 boxes of hellions
2 boxes of reavers
2 ravagers

These will all be getting built in the common weeks. Being in the UK does casue some issue with getting models sprayed so painting may be very slow but there will be as much as I can when I can. On top of this lot I also have another 2 raiders built up. They are under coated black so painting will begin on them soon as. I need a new Archon model as my list changed and the husk blade/ soul trap wont be needed though he will see use sometimes. I will also post up new updated pics of the first raider as I repainted the purple banner a grey neutural tone still no markings as i`m stuck for markings and a suitably impressive Kabal name.

If you lot wanna suggest some names for my Kabal...... PLEASE do.

no sorry im not up to-date on the dark eldar, so i have no serious names for you, i just wanted to say that the "skiff" looks really good, I love the red trimming.

A very nice, bold colour scheme! Good move on repainting the banner/sail to a grey. I like how the paint scheme works well on vehicles and figures. Keep up the great work
