Not many players field these type of armies (aka "Hammer & Anvil" setups) where you have a fast hard hitting force getting stuck in asap buying footslogging troops some time. I also thought about using reserves which I know is uncommon for Orks...

I plan to run 2 footslogging troops protected by KFF and place 2 Trukk boy mobs in reserve to race around my flanks when I need them too. C&C please!

Somefing like this:
(all boyz are slugga/choppa setups)

Big Mek. Kff.

(x2) 12 Boyz. Nob. Pk. Bp. - Trukk. Ram.

(x2) 28 Boyz. Nob. Pk. Bp.

10 grots. Runtherd. Grot Prod.

10 Lootas.

= 1000 pts

I'm sure someone will give you the concentrate on one theme rant, green tide or mech rather than mix.
The main problem is reserves not behaving. If they don't end up coming in till 4 or 5 then you'll be coming piecemeal.
Also I would suggest 2 units of 5 lootas rather than one of 10. That way they are two separate targets for the enemy and you can shoot two separate as well.
-If you want you can have them fire at the same thing still.

It could potentially work, and if you're looking to run something a bit different without concern for super-competitive it'll do fine.

You must understand that for an ork a day that starts off killing something with your bare hands, and ends with those same hands being chopped off in battle, is a good one.

What's betta than one choppa? Two choppas!!! Two choppas is one more than...is one times da...IS LOTS MORE FUN!! WAAAAGH!!!

behind you!

the issue with hammer and anvil tactics is that it pits half your force (the hammer) against all of your opponent's force. predictably they tend to not do very well.

go all hammers.

To be honest I don't see your anvil to your hammer, the trukk boys could never ever come on for example, while your large mobs are only reasonably protected, what I would consider is finding space for 9 more gretchin running them infront of your boys (this is even more powerful after the new FAQ's clarifying trapped is actually 'encircled') giving yor boys a 4+ cover and the gretching 5+. also switch a trukk squad for snikt, he'll have a far greater psychological effect, just talk him up a little at deployment, new players will be uncomfortable at the idea of you using their board edge and more experianced playes tend to 'forget' a little how bad a pair of flame templates are (after all ork shooting is terrible )

I would also split your lootas togive better saturation as you elites are not maxxed out.

HQ
KFF - 85

Elites
5 Lootas - 75
5 Lootas - 75
5+Sniktrot w/2burna - 135

Troops
19 Gretchin - 67
30 boys w/Nop Pk Bp - 220
30 boys w/Nop Pk Bp - 220

This is only 810 points, what else do you want in there? What don't you like, etc

Why reserve the trukks at all?
Use both of them on turn one/two to hit one part of your opponents line and tie it up (preferably with the lootas pounding it too) as your footsloggers run forward.

As mentioned reserving 2 truuks, 2 units of boys and 2 nobs and hoping you get a good reserve roll in a 1000 point game is dangerous. Your opponent could smash up your remaining forces before they get to come on!
The more you have on the table the more choices he has to make target priority wise and if he makes the wrong one, you're in business.

I've run a variation of this list at 1500 except the green tide is replaced with kans (KFF with kans and 3-4 trukks rushing forward) and it worked quite well.

My problem is, this is not enough trukks to pull off what your wanting. 2 trukks = what ever survives the explosion is walking. Orks are best used as all hammers, or all anvils. Not both. I try and mix builds when Im teaching people how to play, because mixing Ork builds usually gets your head kicked in. I also leave all the dead Orks on the table as well, it lets them think they did a REALLY good job

Id only see 2 working, if they were in reserves until the rest of the army was in CC. That way it would be easier for them to not be shot up, but thats still unlikely

the Wife does this with her Orks.

Warboss
10 Lootas
10 Burnas(borrows a Boyz trukk)
5 Diversified nobz w/Painboy in a Trukk
20 Slugga boyz(W/Nob, PK, Bosspole)
20 Slugga Boyz(W/Nob, PK, Bosspole, 2 big Shootas)
20 Shoota Boyz(W/Nob, PK, Bosspole, 2 big Shootas)
10 Slugga boyz(W/Nob, PK, Bosspole) in a trukk(Loaned to Burnas)
11 Bikes w/Nob, Bosspole, PL
Looted Wagon (W/ Boomgun)

It can be devastating, but her only win strategy is to table the opponent(which she often does)
