But seriously, I wouldn't recommend posting pictures of yourself on the internet. Especially with Google working on an image search engine, it's pretty much a straight link to your Facebook profile.

Personally I wouldn't oppose any law charging people automatically with intent to kill for posting dox. That's on the more extreme end of what can happen, but the nature of interpersonal relationships makes it pretty much unforgivable; if you're dealing with someone who posted or tried to post dox, that's a different matter.

Because being weird isnt a bannable offense? And how can they link it to a profile if you use say, photobucket or the like instead?

I hope this doesn't mean all pictures going forward will now require the subjects to be wearing tin foil hats?

Because being weird isnt a bannable offense? And how can they link it to a profile if you use say, photobucket or the like instead?

If you use the same picture on Facebook, Google image search would pick up on it and display the image there in the search results. Plus once they make it better, you could probably take any picture and it would be able to recognize the person.

No, it isn't actually.

There are easy ways to reduce your digital footprint, if that's what you want.

However, one of them isn't reading a thread title of "Show Yourself!" and then posting a picture of yourself online.

I'm confident that anyone who has already done both of the above is well aware of the 'danger' of doing so, and is OK with the 'risk' inherent in their actions.

If you post stuff on Facebook you can get blackmailed with it's your own fault...
If you haven't set your profile to private it's your own fault.
Even if someone hacked my Facebook account they could probably find out my date of birth and a defunct email address.
