Hi Dakka, I'm learning to paint miniatures and joined to get some feedback and suggestions as to how I can improve. I started painting in December 2008, but I only painted three figures before going on a long hiatus until now.
Here is a group shot of what I've done so far:
The terminator sergeant is what I've completed so far upon returning to painting, and I had a lot of fun painting him, so I think I'll stick with it this time. Here are some more shots:
Please let me know what you think!

Pretty solid technique (the first 3 figures I painted got a nice pinsol bath), also nice basing. It looked like you could add a little dry brushing and washes to add shadow/texture to your figures.
Dry brushing is wiping almost all the paint out of a hopefully older brush then lightly wiping the feature with it, it adds color to the high spots and is great for highlights and adding grim/grit and wear to things.
Ink washes thin paint (or purchase inks) and let it flow into cracks (usually the surface is blotted with tissue). This adds definition and shadow to your work.
Great job though, those are really solid paint jobs.

Well, first, let me welcome you to Dak. Also, you will find that you get more responses if you put your thread in the appropriate forum....i would recommend 'painting and modeling'
I like colors you have chosen and your work. I think your painting could probably be thinned out a little more. But your technique is fantastic. Nice work and look foward to more pictures!

Well your very brave asking for advice on line there are a lot of people who will be ready to rip you to pieces. Having twenty two years experiance I would say keep it neat and practice all you can if your happy with your work thats all that matters painting should be fun. So far your work looks great just keep at it practice makes perfect.

Welcome to dakka.
I'd suggest a brighter red to make the model 'pop' a bit more.
