Hi there,
It's been a while since I last posted and some of you may remember my SM thread of The Wings of the Emperor, http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/245855.page
Well I've been a huge fan of Dan Abnett's Gaunt's Ghosts Novels and with the new found experience in making capes and frankly my love of converting, I've decided to start a Tanith IG arrmy.
Now this is going to be one hell of a project and I know its hardly an original one but let me know what you think.
I've started with the Cadian Battle box and for now I'm making some of the 4500 men that arn't mentioned by name though my Flame trooper may become Brostin if I make up my mind.

I'm planning to Field the army as a Vets army and I'm looking at subbing Ratling Snipers into Larkin thoughts?

Also using Gunnary sarg Harker as a special weapons team base as Try again Bragg

Remember that most Tanith born and Verghast didn't care much for helmets. The belladons did like them though.

Catachan might be a better choice for Tanith since they are light infantry. The Cadians have a much "heavier" look to them if you catch my drift. As for you green stuff work... nice job.

The black rage is within us all. Lies offer no shield against the inevitable. You speak of donning the black of duty for the red of brotherhood; but it is the black of rage you shall wear when the darkness comes for you.

Yeah, what Generalstoner said. My mate Scrazza is doing something a la Tanith at the moment using Catachans and GS, you should check out his blog.

As for the troops you already have (should you decide to go the altogether cooler way of the Catachans) will probably fetch a decent price on Ebay or in da swap shop.

Thanks guys for the input, I like the Cadian look for the body armour something in it just speaks to my view of the Tanith.
I might see about Ordering some Catachan heads and arms though.
I'll have some more pictures up later.
I'm thinking of Fielding Larkin and possibly Banda or another Sniper on a 60mm Base as a unit of Ratling Snipers with markers so that they can be shot as if they were a squad of 6.
Just to add a bit of soupped up Larkin-ness.
Any thoughts?

Worst comes to worst just use the helmeted Cadians as a Belladon contingent in your squads and use the Catachans as your Tanith and Verghast contingent.

The black rage is within us all. Lies offer no shield against the inevitable. You speak of donning the black of duty for the red of brotherhood; but it is the black of rage you shall wear when the darkness comes for you.

this.

Yeah Catachan look better. Or you could just use the Cadian bodies if you are that fond of them, but don't use helmets anymore. The Tanith aren't described as using helmets. Hell I think They don't even wear Flak armor.

I think having the hood over the camo-cloak looks a bit odd, and some of the cloaks could use some smoothing out, but apart from that they look good
