I recently bought a box of "mighty putty" from Michael's, an American arts and craft store for the users in the UK. I paid $9.99 for it, but I'm not sure how good it is for sculpting, or how well it holds up. Has anyone used it, and if so, what do you think about it? Any tips on using it?

Lol, mighty putty for for home repairs. You can try it but I don't think it is going to hold 28mm sculpts.

Is it like Milliput, a two part putty?
I would still be thinking there is use for it just not the refined sort of mini conversions etc.

DANG IT!!! i guess i can try still... i actually wasn't going to be doing anything along the lines of actual miniature sculpting, i'm using it for a laptop mod for a customer. he wants a warhammer 40k laptop, and he wants a necron theme.

I'm not familiar with that putty, but I use the cheap plumber's putty (intended for leaky pipes) all the time. The difference is it has a very fast set time, so you don't have time to sculpt with it. I use green stuff if I want to get artistic, but the quick setting stuff is what I use for miniature conversions when I'm filling gaps and evening things out. The stuff I use can be sanded and drilled in less than an hour

This is a cheapie brand epoxy putty - the "delivery format" with the hardener forming a shell around the base is going to limit the shelf life.

I'm sure it's fine for the sorts of purposes the advertise it for, but it's not exactly a huge bargain (even with their "triple your order" offer).

You'd be better off with Milliput or Kneadatite (Green Stuff) for anything beyond filling holes.

Agreed. Its an industrial epoxy for repairing things like leaking pipes and filling cracks.
