Quick question about the "Ignores Cover" rule that some weapons posses.

Hypothetically if I was playing someone and they turbo-boosted and got their cover save when I damage the vehicle, would my weapon that ignores cover disallow them from making a cover save?

If a unit gets a cover save, and is hit by a weapon that ignores cover, they don't get the cover save.

So yah...flamering a turboboosted simmer is going to remove the cover save granted by that. Wiether or not it hurts the vehicle being strength 4/5 is another story.

Careful with the language: it doesn't "remove" the save (implying it is gone, and that future shooting doesn't have to deal with it either), it simply ignores it.

Yeah, if it "ignores cover" or anything like that, it disallows all cover saves, regardless of the circumstances in which they get the save. As far as I know, the only thing which only disallows certain types of cover save is the Hydra Autocannon.

Alright thanks guys, issue came up when I played a game against my Tau friend. Shot his piranhas with the Vanguard Vet special ammo that ignores cover and he disagreed that it ignores cover saves from something that has turbo-boosted.

Got two glances and he made both cover saves

Oh well now I know Thanks guys!

Skimmers 4+ cover and Bikes 3+ cover are both classified as "cover saves", therefore any weapon that ignores cover will ignore these saves. Sternguard Dragonfire Bolts still apply.

Vanguard don't carry those rounds FYI. If you were indeed using Vanguard then your opponent was correct.

Ah that would be my mistake, misread the 'dex entry . Really he wasn't correct, I was just incorrect about the Vanguard Vets having that ammo, but I was right about it ignoring cover saves from turbo-boosting.
