Hy guys...
just a question...
Do you use the extra armour on rhinos or razorbacks?? It's an expensive upgrade... the cost of a marine... but I usually use it...
Right now I'm wondering if that 75 points of extra armours in my army are well spent ( 2 razorbacks, 1 land raider, 2 dreddies)
or i'd better spend them in an extra multimelta Landspeeder...

Personally I don't put them on RB's or Rhinos or my DakkaDreds...but I would always put them on a Landraider. Nothing else really. I'd rather buy Hunterkiller missles for those points.

Guard player.

I love extra armor. Everything i have takes it. Its just a good way to prevent autohits on assaults and to at the very least be able to tank shock something. Nothing has me more worried than a chimera of plasmavets thats cant move foward.

Oh I come from a land, from a faraway space
Where the caravan shuttles roam
Where the war is immense
And the fights are intense
It's barbaric, but hey, it's home

Like Imperium days
More often than not
Are hotter than hot
In a lot of good ways

extra armor only downgrades one result out of 6 on the damage chart. If you have to pay C:SM prices for extra armor, it isn't usually worth it. The exception to this is in single land raider lists. You don't have redundancy to fall back on, so you really need to make sure that your cargo is delivered, and your raider stays mobile (so it doesn't get meltabombed/haywired grenaded).

If you pay the old prices, like 5 points that witchhunters do, it can be an ok upgrade if you have the points to spare.

How much does C:SM pay?

Recent marine books C:SM, wolves, BA, and CSM pay 15 points for extra armor.

Busy somewhere, airin' out the skin jobs.

It's worth it in a Rhino based assault force...like berserkers or BA's that are using rhino's.

Only on heavier dedicated transports like battlewagons and wave serpents (spirit stones, but same idea).

I wouldn't put them on the Dreads, but would keep them on the rest. All about personal taste on this on.

Only on land raiders IMO. It has become 3x as expensive as before and the amount of damage results it prevents has decreased with by 50%. It was a great deal in 4th ed, costing 5 pts and stopping two results, now its a waste on most vehicles.

As a guard player, I can't for the world justify buying it for 15 points. As mentioned, it only downgrades 1/6 results, and you still can't shoot. In my calculation, that adds up to preventing 1/12th of a damage result. When it takes up over 20% of the cost of the Chimera, that's more than triple what its worth. It's an even worse waste of points for a Rhino. For Wave Serpents, on the other hand, it's only 10% of the cost, and they can move twice as far, making it not so bad if you have the points.

I support putting it on Land Raiders, though, but really because they're such an investment it won't be noticed.

If it did the same thing as possessed, I'd be all over it in a heartbeat.

Look at your comment. Back to mine. Back to yours NOW BACK TO MINE. Sadly, it isn't mine. But if you stopped trolling and started posting legitimate crap it could LOOK like mine. Look down, back up, where are you? You're scrolling through comments, finding the ones that your comment could look like. Back at mine, what is it? It's a highly effective counter-troll. Look again, MY COMMENT IS NOW DIAMONDS.

Anything is possible when you think before you comment or post.

Extra armor are good on Dreads (whose every dream is to reach assault) and a must have on Land raiders.

They are a bit steep for Rhinos, so its a matter of preference on this one.

There are 2 kinds of Dakka members: People who just think the game and people who actually play the game. Which one are you?

Only really on the Land Raider. Most of my list is fairly immobile for most of the game as it sits there and shoots.
