Alright, Grazgul is immune to instant death, but Blissgiver inflicts it.
Does Grazgul get his immunity to it or does the Blissgiver kill him?
Thanks in advance Dakka!

In this situation Grazgul would be immune to instant death, but Blissgiver would still be a power weapon.

Okay so I just have to worry about him using his Waaaagh?

Basically, it's a power weapon, because Ghazghkull is immune to ID, so anything that would cause it doesn't.

Alright thanks. What causes ID that are the exception to the ID rule? As in don't truly give it, but takes away all wounds.
Preferably something that CSM have access to.

The only weapons in existence which cause ID to eternal warriors and their like are (AFAIK);

Deamon Hunter force weapons due to them killing outright, not causing ID.

and....

Well that is sort of it as I know. But surely a havoc squad with plasma guns could rapid fire him to death pretty easily.

The only thing that does what you're describing is the Daemonhunters Force Weapon. Okay, and the Vortex Grenade, but you aren't playing Apocalypse I don't think.

Nothing in the CSM gets around ID, other than a torrent of wounds. Just shoot him with a lot of autocannons and whatnot and then charge him with a bunch of Berserkers! He'll fail some 2+ saves eventually.

No. I am planning on facing a friends dad soon and he has a Nazghkull and its the only thing that I fear in his army since I know hardly anything about him. If it wasn't for his imunity 2+ and his possible 2++ saves i could kill it easily since most its stats aren't all that high.

I play Chaos, so I may be able to help you out. There isn't anything that takes away all wounds but doesn't grant instant death. Granted your Strength 10 weaponry can inflict instant death on many things. Things like Chaos Dreadnoughts (many people dislike these, but then one of the crazed results happens to your opponents...), Defilers, Vindicators or Strength 8 weaponry against toughness 4 things... Multiple wound models shouldn't be much of a problem if you are Chaos.

I have yet to have very good luck in close combat with my defiler. I have a laspred and oblits. From what I saw his T is 5 so it would def need to be a STR10 weapon so DCCW would have to do it. I don't use dreads due to the crazed result being..annoying to say the very least.

Gift of Chaos (or Boon of Mutation, forgot which one was the one in the Chaos Space Marine Codex, the other is in Chaos Daemons, but they're basically the same thing) can kill a character without causing ID.

He's only invulnerable for 1 turn, so remember that! What I do is just set myself up so that when he charges me(he's most likely going to charge you. Just accept it and deal with it when it happens) I'm in a position to rapidly move away and set up my counterattack. Keeping your troops in Rhinos helps with this, as long as you have something to take out Lootas if he's using them. I know it's expensive, but a unit or two of Chosen with Plasma Guns will put a pretty bad hurting on Ghaz when he's not under the effects of the Waaagh!

zadelistol wrote:Holy crud, how did I even forget about Gift of chaos?>< Just roll over toughness!

Well, you have to roll a 6. Not what I'd call reliable.

Still, it's hysterical when it happens!

Gift is a gambler's Spell. Either massively awesome payoff, or a wasted shooting phase, which could possibly result in an impromptu new facial deconstruction surgery for the Sorceror in question.

I was actually thinking of using Lash on him to move him closer to something that could possibly kill him, or farther away from what will try to kill him.
Now knowing that Waaaah lasts one turn is a huge relief. Looks like I'm buying more marines to convert to chosen. Right now my chosen are just a mishmash of heavy weapons, didn't make them havocs due to wanting to allow them to infiltrate.
Well I have obliterators so they might be decent in taking him out after Waaagh is no longer in effect.

Just to clarify: His invul save lasts for the current player turn and the next player turn. So, if he uses it in his turn, it's still active in your next turn.

Any abilities that simply 'remove a model from the table' get around any special rule that makes a model immune to instant death (as these things don't technically inflict instant death). Although not related to CSM, such things like Space Wolves Jaws of the World Wolf, Lukas the Trickster's death ability, Ork Shokk Attack Gun rolling double sixes, Dark Eldar Hexrifle & Implosion missile, Daemonhunter and Witch Hunter Force Weapons, etc, etc, etc.

Alright. I have yet another question about Ghazghkull. Can he join a squad of Mega Nobs? Got info from a friend that recently played him and said that he usually attaches him to a squad of Mega Nobs to keep him from being singled out right away.

They're also slow and purposeful, so have a less reliable charge range - the only reliable is their Run! while under the Waaaagh! from Ghazgull. this can result in them having to delay a turn, as their average charge range is 5" less than a normal squad.
