Has anyone ever played this game? I got intersted in Star Blazers/Space Battleship Yamato a few years ago (I'm too young to have seen it on TV), and I then picked up the books for the game a long with some of the minis, kind of on a lark. It seems pretty interesting, with a feel that is more like BFG/FSA with larger fleets (the destroyers in this game come 3 to a stand!). There doesn't seem to be a large following for this game, as it is 12 years old and counting, but neither has it died...apparently, the creator is still selling the minis through his website, and the books are available as well. Here is the link (WARNING: There is a loud MIDI of the Star Blazers theme on the main page that I can't quite figure out how to turn off!):

I'm seriously thinking about maybe building up a couple of small fleets to try these rules out. I'll let you know how it turns out...

The game is very much a hybrid B5/Star fleet Battles thing. It is a solid game, but you'll have a hard time getting players. Minis cost is good/affordable.

Buying the recent Yamato anime movie, the original series, and (when it arrives) the new Yamato live action movie may help you build a following.

There are also fleet battle clips on Youtube.

Luck!

Ah, thanks for the tip about Youtube, I never would have thought to look there!
