So I thought about my 1500 list and decided to change it from the other one I posted. I think this one will be a little better, plus it just requires me to add pieces to the 1250 army I have. Here's the list:

HQ:
Shas'El - MP, PR, TA, HW MT

Elites:
2x Fireknives w/MT (to be joined by HQ)
3x Shas'ui - TL MP, Flamer, Team Leader w/BK
3x XV8s
-2x Shas'ui - MP, BC, MT
-1x Shas'vre - AFP, BC, MT, BK

Troops:
8 FWs
-Warfish (SMS, D-Pod, MT, TA)
8 FWs
10 Kroot
-3 Kroot Hounds

Fast Attack:
8 Pathfinders - Pulse Carbines
-Warfish (SMS, D-Pod, MT, TA)

Heavy:
2x Broadsides - TL Railgun, SMS, ASS, Team Leader w/HW Target Lock, HW DC, BK, and 2 Shield Drones
Hammerhead - Railgun, 2 BCs, TA, MT, D-Pod

Total: 1499

I'm sure some of you are wondering why the AFP is on a 'vre. Well the reason is that way I can use the better BS of my HQ on the better weapons. Plus if the HQ had it he wouldn't really have the same purpose as the squad he's joining with.

Here's the tactica behind everything else: All troops will start in reserve. That way I can keep fire off of my fragile FWs and the Kroot will outflank to contest/take an objective. Everything on the board will take out transports and start wounding infantry. By the time my troops come in they can mop up weaker squads and contest/take objectives.

If you guys have any questions let me know. ANY comments or criticism is much appreciated.
Thanks guys!

Like haizelhoff said, MP = Missile Pod.

What do you think I should do to help out against anti-horde? I figured between the anti-horde unit of suits and the submunition I'd be in fairly good shape, plus I can always dump Missile Pods into infantry. Any recommendations? Anything in particular I should add/drop?

The pathfinders aren't good IMO they are more a fun unit.
I love it to use 3 with a rail rifle to snipe out 3 models each turn (more a fun way)
but i would drop them and add 1 more Hammerhead

Ps: thank you 2 for explaining MP to me

What? Whaat? Whaaaat?
Honestly, pathfinders are 15 shades of awesome, they are easily one of the best force multipliers in the whole game. And their fish? Do what every other person do, throw the fire warriors into it.

Onto the list. I think that it's decent, but some notes:

How about dropping the TL MP suit's bonding knife. It'll only come into play when the team leader is alone. For those you could add a target lock to the AFP teamleader, when you want to fire both on the orks and the truck.

What's more? Not much to be honest. This list got it's theme and I wouldn't change so much in it. But I'm doubting the use of the kroots in an otherwise fully mech up army. (Bubble wrap the sides? Drop the hounds to 3 in that case, saves 24p that can be used for something else)

If I use -><- I'm not mocking you, it's a reflex from using the " silly" icon on every other forum.
However, if I use this -><- I might just mock you.

EDIT: I dropped the Kroot Hounds from 7 to 3 in favor of 2 more Pathfinders. Seems like a good investment since the Kroot are only contesting/taking objectives/bubble wrapping.

I was thinking about dropping the squad of XV8s with Burst Cannons, Missile Pods, and the AFP in favor of a 6-man stealth team - 4 Burst Cannons all with Targeting Array and 2 with Fusion Blasters with Target Lock. Thoughts on that?

Thoughts on the list in general?

I apologize for reviving an older thread, but...

I'm still debating on the last squad of crisis suits. After finally playing against marines, I've seen how powerful fireknives can be. Should I swap the last squad of Firestorms (the squad of crisis suits with the 'vre and AFP) for:

1. 2 Fireknives and something else (either FWs or Kroot)
2. 2 Sunforge to serve as suicide tank poppers, along with something else (again probably FWs or Kroot)
3. 2 Piranhas (Fusion Blaster, Targeting Array, D-Pod) and maybe a Blacksun Filter on my Hammerhead

Which option do you guys think is best?

Fireknives are REALLY good against MEQs, I love hiding them out behind a building and jetpacking back and forward every turn and fizzing the enemy.

Looking at the list I think you have enough anti-tank, I would consider adding more fireknives. In my 1500pts I have more firewarriors and 10 Kroot hounds in the Kroot squad for extra protection when holding objectives.

Stealth suits would be a waste of points imo since crisis are more versatile.

I haven't played Tau in ages but i am trying to come up with a good 1.5k list to play against Orks, so in my list i have the XV8s running BC MP. Your list seems really balanced, i would have to try it out for myself as I haven't played a game with Tau for ages, but will rectify that soon!

Firestorms are rather nice crisis suits. Unless you now you are going to play marines, I would keep them. They are excellent for taking out medium infantry.

If you know you are going up against marines, or necrons, I would take the fireknives.

Well, in the next 1500 point game I'm playing I'll be playing Eldar, but if I were to take this to my FLGS, I'd be playing any of the following: CSM, Ultramarines, Chaos Daemons, IG, Dark Eldar, Nids, Orks, or Eldar.

Thanks for all the comments, guys!
