I was debating on doing a Daemons army, but using a variety of WoC models as count-as equivalents. The models would all be near enough size for what is needed, modeled clearly, and always WYSIWYG (not that that is too specific with Daemons anyhow). Would you guys allow this? How do you think most TOs and players would react?

Just looking for Dakka's thoughts on this matter.

I would love to see it, and as far as "counts as" armies go it's not the craziest i have ever seen. I would totally play you.

S'all fun and games until some no life troll master debates all over your space manz & ruins it for you

WoC can work as either an Ork Warband or CSM more than Daemons IMO. However if you can model it correctly I have no problems.

EDIT: edited my comment when I raelised we were still in the 40k section.

I think it's a great idea. Anything that gets a new set of models onto the table is good by me.

Well, the concept was the "Specters of Chaos" and I would be painting them all black, with glowing weapons, claws, mutations, eyes, and emblems, etc. The colors would reflect the Chaos deity in question - red/yellow/orange for Khorne, blue/dark purple Tzeentch, green/yellow-green for Nurgle, and pink/magenta for Slaanesh. Obvious stuff. This would help clearly define each unit, I think.

They are the very fabric of the warp clothed in shadow. They were conjured by fanatics of the Word Bearers thousands of years ago and let loose on the Imperium. At least, that is my tentative fluff.

Here is my specific count-as concept:
Galrauch - Bloodthirsters
Warriors - Plaguebearers
Marauder Horsemen - Fiends
Knights - Bloodcrushers
Marauders - Bloodletters
Marauders w/ Mutations - Pink Horrors
Chaos Warhounds - Seekers
Trolls (converted) or Spawn - Daemon Princes

That all seem fair?

I'm not entirely clear; do you mean to build a Daemons of Chaos army for Warhammer, and posted in the 40k forums by mistake?

Or do you mean to build a Codex: Chaos Daemons army for 40k, and just used the wrong acronym in the title of your thread?

I think he wants to use the Warriors of Chaos Fantasy Miniatures for Codex: Chaos Daemons in 40k.

Also, I think Dragon Ogres might be better for Bloodcrushers, and Shaggoths can serve as Bloodthirsters. Warhounds will probably be better as Screamer or Fleshhound count-as though. Daemon Princes can just be Daemon princes (WoC have them too). Chaos Dragons should be Lords of Change due to their Tzeentch Affiliation, and Giants can be Soul Grinders.

I think it sounds pretty cool. Would love to see pics when you finish some of the models
