So today, I decided I was going to paint my Space Wolves as Salamanders. I then went on to think more on how much I REALLY like them. Am I the only one who thinks they would have made a good individual codex?

Space Wolves just barely makes it on my list of "Chapters that deserves a codex" and is currently the only one on the list. I think Salamanders are pretty well represented in the SM codex. Maybe a little FoC change to give them something more akin to the SoB in terms of weapons, but that's about it. They're a Codex chapter with more flame-based weapons.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

I think something along the lines of more elites choices would be kind of cool for them. They do have 120 veterans in the 1st company!

I personally think their SC gives them just as much as they deserve. I see a lot of chapters that get far less love than the sallies did

I think Salamanders are done well as is. Not every good chapter needs a codex. I'm not asking for a Raven Guard codex because I can use the C:SM or C:BA just fine. Just be glad they're not getting hosed like the Iron Hands. Those guys are getting no love at all in the current codex

Raven Guard ~1,500pts WIP

codex space marines IS the Salamanders codex, the most competitive C:SM list you can take is Vulcan Melta/thunderhammer spam

No more individual SM codex(s) please.

I would rather GW update the xeno codex(s) to make them more appealing and forgiving to the novice player. There are to many SM out there.

I am not saying that it should be done in place of xeno armies. I love Tau and Nids personally. But I fell in love with salamanders is all.

The Sallies are on the cusp of needing their own codex. They are also the best looking chapter!

Truthfully the SM codex is probably one of the better codex for play.

If you are looking for fluff, read some of the books put out by Black Library.

NONONONONONO.

We do NOT need another Space Marine Codex. We are already up to our armpits in Marine armies.

If anything, what GW needs to do (Yeah, right, like this is ever going to happen) is consolidate all the Marine books into one mega book, with fluff, rules, and organizational changes so as to keep the chapters alive, but so they don't spend so much frickin time on what is essentially one army....

I've never feared Death or Dying. I've only feared never Trying.

intelligent decisions are strictly banned by GW marketing policy, you know that. And yes I agree, a marine super-book would be awesome(and smart) but GW needs its revenue, I play two marine armies, Imperial fists, and Iron Warriors, and to be honest, if they spent the next two years just updating all the xenos armies I wouldn't be the least bit annoyed, they deserve it and heaven knows some of them need it (Necrons, Tau).

I currently play salamanders and I love them. I picked them wholly for how they looked. I love that color scheme. It was only after I decided on salamanders that I read Vulkan's rules. I don't think we need another marine codex, and to echo other people, old codexes (*cough* tau *cough*) need updating.

As I said, I do believe xeno need to come first. Then maybe a marine super codex if able. I really don't think Blood Angels deserved their own codex. I would like to see Tau updated ASAP though
