Good day fellow DakkaDakka users, I'm a long time reader, small time poster.

For a while now I have been meaning to start a blog about my homebrew Space Marine chapter; The Corinthian Sons. However, painting (and fluff writing) has not been my strong points at all. After a lot of practise, I have finally decided to pull together it all, and start this blog. Hopefully to encourage me to write more as well. I will be trying to get the other posts that I've started deleted, but if you come across any that aren't part of this, then please do tell.

However, on with the army. The colour scheme is a very dark red, with one shoulder pad in orange and the other in black.

Fluff:

The Corinthian Sons are a second founding chapter, coming from the Ultramarines. However, shortly after they were dispatched with an entire crusade fleet, they were swept up by the Inquisition. The chapter fights in small amounts, rarely even as a whole company, even rarer still as a chapter. Their organisation is somewhat different to the codex's ideals, but there tactics and builds follow it rigorously. Due to the controversy of the Inquisition (mostly the Ordo Malleus), the Corinthian Sons have been called into battle even against fellow loyalist marines. They act as a bridge between the Inquisitorial Stormtroopers, and the Grey Knights. For when unstoppable power is needed, yet with expandable troops. So far, the company has sent troops to dozens of important battles, even just fighting on the side lines, many of which include the Chaplain Crash (more on him in a minute). Currently, they have been noted as fighting against the last crusade sent by Abbadon, 2 squads stood as guards to Creed. They've fought at Armaggedon, an entire company was sent to destroy several of Ghazghkull's ships as they entered the system for his second war. It was a vast success, claiming nearly 2 score ships, and a complete space hulk, along with a dozen Ork Rocks. Yet this was a suicide mission, and none of the dozen Thunderhawks, or any of the Imperial Battle Barges returned. Along with the entire company.

The colour scheme is simple, and easy to mass produce, all the better for the many new recruits needed. The orange pad reflects their rage, and unifies the army. It also works as a spot colour amongst all of the dark red (I think). The black pad shows their remorse for those they've lost, and the many casualties that they take during their many suicide missions.

Organisation:

The Chapter is set out into 12 companies of battle brothers, with 3 scout companies. The first being built of terminators and dreadnoughts alone, it's devastating to behold, yet splits up to join other companies. The next 7 companies are built with 2 squads of Sternguard veterans, and 8 Tactical Squads each. Companies 9 and 10 are each 2 Vanguard squads with 8 Assault squads, and 11 and 12 are composed of 2 Linebreaker squadrons, with 8 devastator squads. By mixing veterans with standard units, the chapter can train marines faster, with the aid of veterans teaching those below them. With 3 scout companies, each of approximately 100 scouts, they are never without a fresh supply of new troops. Being a space born chapter, these come from either the nearest planets to their current position, or are requisitioned straight from the Inquisitions pool of Stormtrooper veterans.

So far, the main character is the High Chaplain Crash. Crash has fought at nearly every major engagement to date. Fighting with his command squad, he butchers his way through the foes with grim determination, until he meets the largest of opponents, only to smash them into the dirt. He uses Cassius' rules, and to date has a kill tally of a whole squad of Khorne Berserker, several dozen Tyranids, multiple space marine characters, and a Trygon. All alone. I will get his picture up, along with more back story for him soon.

But now for some photos:

Sergeant Sabre, of the second company tactical squads.

Sabre's combat squad.

I know the sword is cliched, but it was a one off, and I think it looks cool. I will have more photos and fluff up soon, as I said I'm hoping for this to be motivation for more. So, please comment, and C&C is very welcome.

I would like to be able to see the darker colours better, but I like the scheme as far as I can tell.

Though guards may sleep and ships may lay at anchor, our foes know full well that big guns never tire.

Now, I have taken more pictures, and have also noticed that on close inspection the flaws in the painting show up rather clear. Regardless, here's the next batch.

This is the first full tactical squad, the previous combat squad will ride within a razorback, hence the lower numbers.
Standard load out for the squads is a plasma gun, for heavy targets, and a heavy bolter, for lighter ones. With the sergeant wielding a plasma pistol, not normally but he does here.

Yes, I have noticed the eyes here. They aren't one of my strong points, and most have black 'filters' on their visors.
The tactical squad has more pictures on my gallery, for people to peruse. I thought I'd add it here because I'm adding lots of pictures to it currently, so it'd be easier to find, by simply jumping from here.

Finally, Chaplain Crash, and more fluff.
Yes, he has one hand. He's undergoing a swap currently, but with his new fluff I thought I'd add it anyway. I'll add a new picture once it's back on.

Crash is a dark and resolute marine. Standing apart from his fellow battle brothers. He speaks in a monotonous tone, telling simply the truth in all cases. Yet once he's on the field of battle, he's an unstoppable force. He charges headlong into all situations, many would see this as rash acting, from someone who shouldn't lead an army, but once in the thick of the fighting, Crash shows his worth. His command squad relays orders to the troops, while in the background of the vox comms, Crash shouts litinies of fury, of war and of faith.

He's been noted as started fights with important figures within loyalist marine armies, most notably Cassius of the Ultramarines. During a recent routine scouring of an imperial outpost that'd fallen to Chaos, the Ultramarines had taken several hundred of the Garrison of imperial Guardsmen upon one of their battle barges, pulling them out of the fray. The several squads of the Corinthian sons second company, lead by Crash himself, had been sent to aid their brothers in removing this upheaval, yet word had reached Crash of the Ultramarines acts of 'saving their loyalist allies'. As the two marine forces battled across the moon towards the outpost, the Inquisition had been telling Crash of 'new orders'. Once the two forces arrived at the defensive position, and all trace of the traitorous scum had been removed, the Ultramarine Captain in charge of the mission declared the warring over, and with this Crash dealt him a dangerous blow.

"Fools!" he'd cried to the assembled forces, both of whom had raised their bolters, "The taint of Chaos cannot simply be removed with bolter and with fire! It must be purged through faith!" Taken aback with this insult, Cassius had stood up against the upstart, raising his Crozius, the two fought, brother to brother in an unmatched test of duty. After what seemed like hours, Crash parried a blow from his counterpart, before reaching behind to hit the detonator upon his waist held Melta Bomb. The blast sent them both backwards, Cassius remained down, while Crash, propping himself upon his waist, with only mechanical wires and bolts were his legs once were, looked at the assembled Ultramarines, before his command squad held him together. In the background a booming explosion was heard. "You're so called 'allies' within the imperial guard were traitors like the rest." Crash proclaimed, while his apothecary checked to make sure nothing important had been lost, "The Inquisition knew of this, and has removed the taint, along with your accursed ship." With a nod to his battle brothers, they left. Leaving only two downed champions of the Imperiem, and a largely bemused army of space marines.

Thanks for reading, and do please comment

C&C welcome, and wanted.
And if anyone wants a better, or more, picture(s) of something, please say and I'll be happy to ablidge.
