I did a poll a couple weeks ago asking people's opinion about which colors to paint my orks.

I ended going with 4 colors, which I will alternate between... Goblin Green, Snot Green, Catachan Green and Orkhide shade... here's the results:

Goblin Green Boyz:

Yes, I know, I did a gross mistake on the eyes of the guy in the back, but it's fixed now ops:

Snot Green Boyz:

Catachan Boyz:

Orkhide Shade Boyz:

The one on the left is the 'original' black ork I painted, which used dark angel green instead of orkhide shade... I like the orkhide a lot better, feels like the highlight gel better with it.

I think I prefer the second one down, the firs looks too bright, and I dont imagine orks having really dark skin. Lovely painting!
I rarely put very much detail at all into horde armies.

Would you mind if i request a side-by-side comparison shot with 1 of each?

That is; could I get a shot of Goblin, snot, catachan, and orkhide all in 1 photo? i think it would make a nice tone-scale.

I have been doing all of the wife's orks in Vallejo's Scorpy green(nearly neon in tone) over a Caimen green base.

Also i would like to second the appreciation of your camera skills.

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.

That's actually on my to do list... what tool do you use for it tho? I'm still a novice hobbyist.

I have this one:

Saddly, when that was taken, I hadn't made any Catachan Ork yet (I made one after somebody suggested it on another forum and I loved the result). Also, the black one was made using dark angel green + badab black instead of orkhide shade + asurman blue... I think my new black ork look much better. My white box is in the garage now, so I'm not taking any new pics for a little bit.

Here's a pic of the whole family tho:

If you go from left to right, the 'fist row' is actually Snot Green (He's a bit behind), Goblin Green, Orkhide Shade and Catachan.

I really like the different shade of green... it helps give them even more character.
